Jds22
Hopefully this is the right spot for this. Guy wants to trade this Scotty for a Ping Tyne 4 putter. Looked good until I noticed it looked like the Cameron on the back was angled. Anyone ever see a Scotty like that? SlowNLow
https://www.scottycameron.com/archives/putters/2010/studio-select/newport-2/ https://sidelineswap.com/shop/golf/clubs/putters/l165?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_JaYpJu77wIVc_zjBx1WUggkEAQYBCABEgIem_D_BwE&similar_to=3163765&stid=1 There are some pictures at these links. That picture of stamping on the face, with "Cameron" not running parallel with the 3 dots would make me worry. Maybe its the picture angle, not sure, but it gets my spidey-senses going. I'm always paranoid about buying counterfeit stuff. Rickp 1 Quote Link to comment

I'm always paranoid about buying counterfeit stuff. Big time paranoid. I put the two images (sidelineswap and mine) side by each and the lettering is way off. Thickness is different. Spacing is different. Paint on the 3 dots is different. Not worth the risk. lasorcier
Not only tat but the red seems weird. Usually it is a darker red in those circles. That red seems really bright. GaDawg 1 Quote Shoot 'em straight Link to comment
juspoole
Lettering looks off from what I remember when i owned that model. I would probably pass this time around. null
I have the Newport version of that putter - the lettering on the one in your pictures is clearly not straight and definitely a fake scotty Rickp 1 Quote Link to comment

Kansas King
Looks fake. The hosel doesn't look right. The red dots are filled wrong. The enamel paint or epoxy Titleist uses does pop out sometimes in older putters but being out of alignment is red flag #1. It seems that Scotties usually have more of a bevel ground around the edge of the face. The edges around the front look a little sharp. Plus, the lettering is too thin compared to an authentic Scotty. It may perform okay but there is no way that is a legitimate Scotty unless someone snuck a messed up head out of the factory. Scotty's are the most faked club on the market today and this one doesn't even look like a good fake. I'm not a fake scotty expert but you can compare photos to an authentic Scotty of the same vintage and you will instantly know this one is not legitimate. GaDawg and cnosil 2 Quote Link to comment
MNUte
So in a different thread, also on a fake scotty, a few of us talked about how with counterfeits you want to look at the paint first. It's so hard to get the color exactly the way the makers do it (yay trade secrets), and then to apply it right (yay more trade secrets). And the reds in a lot of the Scotty Cameron fakes are just a lot lighter and duller. Quote Rag tag bag, but it does the job. Taylormade R1 driver. Ping G400 3 wood. Cleveland Halo Launcher 3 hybrid. RobbyT
I've never seen a Scotty like that. You could contact Titleist to ask them if it was real with the serial number.
