Murray06
I see that Taylormade are offering the Project X RDX blue and black with no up charge fee. Does anyone know if these are the real deal or a watered down version like they did with Ventus? Murray06
Also, if anyone could suggest a soft to medium tip section shaft I can look to test that would be great! jaskanski
If you're looking for a soft to medium tip shaft, the HZRDUS RDX ain't it. Not sure if the RDX Blue is a free option but the Black RDX is a stock offering. The specs look legit, but the compelling factor is the Hexcel/Hextow fiber - if it hasn't got it on the shaft, it isn't the real deal. The Blue is a counter-blanced shaft. I would make sure you get properly fit before making any informed decision. If you're looking at soft tip TM options, you need to be looking at the Air Speeder or UST V2 HL or Helium if you play S flex as your signature suggests. csamsh
There are no "watered down" hzrdus options. The TX versions are the ones with the premium materials and are more expensive than the non-TX versions. You generally can't get TX shafts without upcharge. This is true for hzrdus, AV raw, rogue, and other common stock options. If you want non-TX premium shafts they'll be things like Ventus velocore, Diamana TB, Tensei pro or 1k, speeder evo, mostly any graphite design, etc. You've also still got Callaway, who did things like offer the HZRDUS T800 which was not really at all similar to a T1100- they're doing the same now with their im10 mid, which is really not the same as an im10 low. All the shafts you list are premium. The TX versions have a different EI profile and yes use some other premium materials or an extra flag of the same materials in the non tax version. The RDX black is stock in many of the OEMs this year but it’s not a watered down or less premium offering it’s just that the OEMs worked out a deal with PX to make it stock. The RDX blue is in no upcharge in several and in others it ranges from a small upcharge to about $250 and that’s not for the pvd finished either. The im10 shafts mid and low are also premium shafts with different profiles. Just like other brands do like Fujikura with the 3 Ventus shafts. golfish!
Anyone else On 4/5/2021 at 9:16 AM, dolleris said: Kuro Kage is not that stiff in the tip - I play it myself and do not have the transition for a tipstiff profile Is that the Kuro Kage Silver 60? I have a SIM2MAXD with a Black RDX 70 shaft and just won a SIM2MAX and the only shaft options were the Ventus Blue 5 or the Kuro Kage Silver 60 so I went with the Kuro Kage. I am assuming it is their newest Gen 5 offering just released this year right? I am assuming it is their newest Gen 5 offering just released this year right? Just in case anyone is wondering, I answered my own question by searching on the TM catalog. The Kuro Kago Silver 60 is indeed the 5th gen released earlier this year. Actually saw that the shaft weighs the same as my current Project X RDX Black 70. The torque on the Kuro Kage is higher by 2 points. Will be interesting to try switching around heads and shafts and seeing if there are any differences.
