The Masters - 2021

The course is definitely playing tough again today but the players at the top are definitely playing well so far. Leaderboard is getting tight.

No not really. They haven’t been allowed and there previously and there was record scoring im November.  Plus so many of the top players on the board know this course like the back of the  hand. 
The high scoring Thursday was due to very tough conditions.  Yesterday 20 players were under par. 

i suspect once the rain is done today and the winds calm down the leading score will be around -9 or -10.  Setting up for a -12 ir -13 total which is about normal

Well, Rose has had a couple fliers, and those aren’t game improvement clubs. This last one Nantz said moisture was maybe the cause, but two in-a-row! Yikes

I’m kind of mad that the rain came in and softened-up the course again. It needed to be difficult like this morning, and then become windy. Crud.

Still like the leaderboard going into Sunday, other than Thomas’s wheels coming off. Matsuyama was on fire. Someone a little further back will probably post a good number tomorrow, and then it’s up to the leaders to stay calm. Anything can happen Sunday afternoon when the weight of actually winning a Masters really sets in on all of them. Some will step up, and unfortunately some will crack. Can’t wait to watch!

I'm a fan but after playing here for as long as he has you would think he wouldn't need a translator.

So impressed with Justin's scrambling prowess today.  His ability to simply hang on and make pars out of bogies may very well be the reason he wins.

Great day of golf. I would venture to guess that there are still a half dozen players that can still win this one. Mental game will be a huge factor tomorrow and it should be a pretty exciting day.

It's a runaway... or a shoot out!!.  They say: It's tough to follow up a low round with another one, but Hideki could take care of the par 5's and with his ball striking, he could run away with it.  However, a low round posted by any of the -7 players could be winner.

Final Pairing tomorrow. Matsuyama and Schauffle. Two players who have contended in Majors several times. 
 

Both have had their issues on the greens.  Especially Matsuyama. They’ll have the chance to prove their nerves can stand up to the moment.   
 

I still hold out hope for a 63 or 64 from JT or Jordan

My feeling exactly!!  The Ladies from Korea and Japan make a very good effort to learn English.  Hideki's brand would be much improved if he spent time learning English.  

Aoki is popular on the Champions tour and speaking English is a big reason.

Well if Matsuyama hadn’t made that all world par save on 18, I would have had it.

LPGA is very big on foreign players learning english.  They have tutors that teach them and I know at one time it was a requirement.

I think he probably can speak English reasonably well. I know Ichiro Suzuki always used a translator for interviews but could speak English just fine in the clubhouse or on the field with his teammates and competitors.

I picked Zalatoris to win early this year.  He is certainly a great ball striker, but I was hesitant about his putting at Augusta.  He did quite well!  I wouldn't mind seeing him win either.

I know the feeling... about once a year .  It's fun when these players just go zonal.  I still contend that Rose may very well have had the best round of the day - Harry Houdiniesque.

100% came out what -1 through the first however many holes he played and went -6 through 6 after the rain lol. I get it part of the game but damn did those final few groups get some benefit

Rose has played well. Interesting things, he is -7. 
he shot -7 on Thursday and some said it was possibly the best round of golf he has ever played, given the conditions that day. 
 

He shot 72 yesterday and some said it was the best he has played to save a round that could have gone sideways after being 3 over on the round after 7 holes 

today he shot 72 in what some said was the best par saving scrambling rounds they have seen with terrific saves on 11, 14, 15, 17 and 18. 
 

As Justin Leonard said, and he’s still at -7.   
 

So hes going to have to be more aggressive tomorrow. 
 

I’d like to see one of those -7’s (Zalatoris) come out and go -3 through the first 4 holes, to at least make it a bit exciting.

The big question is does the course play like it did before the storm delay or after? Will someone have to go out and win it or will it be about not losing it?
