Henrik Stenson only used his driver 9 times in the Masters by my count.  Over 72 holes.

While Henrik's prowess with the 3w is near legend, I'm wondering if he's now just losing too much ground to the field off the tee?

Well.  206 in driving distance... he’s giving up a lot!

It would be interesting to see what his average is using only the 3w.  Clearly he pulls it when most everyone else is hitting driver.

Greatest souvenir cups that come with your drink. Have a few from when I went to the practice round in 2010. If you are there you can get a ton of them since many people just throw them away. Saw people picking them out of the trash cans.

Yeah, and he had a triple and double bogey in the process.  Make those pars or even a bogey and he is possibly putting on his 2nd green jacket.

I'm already suffering PMS.....Post Masters Syndrome...thank you!     How many days until the 2022 Masters and who is the "way too early" as the call it betting favorite.

Great point. Of course my wife was rooting for him on Sunday and that was her only commentary after it was done - how well he did.

Now that he's got the yips behind him and is a weekly contender - time to focus on Rickie.

We’ve got them from US Opens, PGA, Ryder Cup & other Tournaments BUT not Masters! Great souvenir.

A family member lives in Orlando in the same development as Hideki and frequently sees him across the street at the range. He also speaks Japanese and has spoken to Hideki's manager. Perhaps he will get to meet him now.

One of the best questions I saw posed on Twitter to a golf writer that was doing a Q&A, Will Bob Turner be invited to the dinner to help interpret and will he get to eat.   The writers answer was, I guessing it will be a hard no to both accounts.  ha

I think Hideki speaks enough English to get along at the dinner for a couple hours.

Maybe, but I'm thinking MacIntyre is the new up and coming lefty.  I've been watching him on the EU Tour and I like his game.

Hidecki seemed to understand Jim Nantz in the Butler Cabin during post Masters interview.
I’m sure he’ll be fine.

Yes, In a lot of interviews you see him nodding as the question is being asked. I can barely speak one language but from what I know of friends of mine who speak multiple languages, they say it's easier to pick up on understanding what someone is saying versus being able to answer in that language.  Which makes sense, I guess.

My thought: that's correct because you're picking up words and phrases when you listen. When trying to speak the a non-native language, you're also trying to figure out how to put those words together in a grammatically correct manner. That happened to me when I first started traveling to Germany for business - initially I could make out some words and gradually built up my inventory - but it took almost several years before I was confident in conversational German.

Again, Matsuyama does speak English and continues to work on it. From what I read online, he chooses not to speak English in formal settings...

1) to avoid embarrassing himself (or reflect poorly on a sponsor) should he misunderstand a reporter,

2) his accent is pretty strong so a little hard to understand, and

3) it slows down US reporters from hounding him (like Japanese media already does).

Sounds reasonable for a non-native English speaker, especially 3). And if you watch him at press conferences it looks like he does understand some questions by his facial expressions.

I can attest to this. Understand a lot more in two languages than I can speak in them.
