ole gray
Yesterday I finally got around to doing a front end job on the M7. I've been putting off doing what I found out but didn't know until yesterday, how simple it is to resolve pulling left or right. There are two little wheels or discs you move clockwise or counter clockwise and that's it! Easy Peasy to adjust pulling to one side or the other. Somehow I managed to turn the Motocaddy over and not sure how. Had did a big range session and had my Titleist Mini Staff bag on it with my 690 MBs in it. Did a extended range session for me. Went to the clubhouse to use the facilities. I did take the remote in with me. I do not honestly remember locking it. Came back out and found the Motocaddy turned over wheels sideways running. All the old fart Mens groups sitting at the tables laughing. They said it just started and ran jumped the curb and turned over. I do not know if I hit the go button on the remote or one of them messed with it. I righted it and no damage. I ended going back to the range no problem. Usually I hang the remote on the umbrella slot and lock it. What I do now is reach down and un hook the battery. If those old farts attempts to mess with it they do not have the sense of effort to plug it in. But then again the test goes on it is tough. So we know now it will survive a flip. LOL one of my old racing buddies will say " if it can be turned over Stu can do it" Yeah I turned a car over one night on the straightaway running by myself. That had an explanation I was setting the springs to get into the next turn and the RR tire blew and the rim bit into the dirt. The Motocaddy turn over had one of two reasons and so I eliminated both possibilities. Nothing in the design just human interference. And trust me if I have have heard the story one time I have heard it 50 times about the self propelled carts running in the lake somewhere. I told one of the old farts the other day that you must have been one of the 50 people around here standing around watching that. The story starts the same way always " When I was up North I saw" Yikes! We'll have to work w/ the engineers on a future "Big Stu Mode"! golfish!
So an update today. I noticed that the glass screen protector on the GPS screen was chipped on the top edge. Would take pictures but maybe it was foreshadowing because I dropped my phone onto the edge of the toilet earlier and it cracked my screen and now half of it is unresponsive. It did go in but luckily it wasn't in use at the time... @Motocaddy do you know if we are able to order replacement screen protectors? Not sure how this happened but I imagine it will happen with a lot of users as the cart is being loaded/unloaded and maybe from banging clubs etc. And no I did not drop it on the edge of my toilet... golfish!
I might have mentioned this already somewhere on the forum but one issue with the Dry bag is that it does not fit in my SKB hard travel case. I was going to put it in the case for my roadtrip to Phoenix last month but noticed that the carry handle at the top sticks out too much and the case wont close without seriously deforming the carry handle. I could put in upside down but that would risk damaging my clubs (although, with the way baggage handlers throw bags around it probably wouldn't matter!) I have a trip to Dallas next week and unfortunately had to switch to my Datrek bag which I have travelled with many times. Just noting in case anyone else travels with their clubs often. Other than that and no drainage holes for the cooler compartment (probably to boost water proofing) no other issues with the Dry bag! cksurfdude 1 Quote Driver : SIM2 Max 9* MC Kuro Kago Silver 60 Stiff Woods : GS53 3 Wood 14* Mitsubish Tensei Blue 73g Regular Hybrids: 949X Project X HZRDUS RDX Black Irons : 699 Pro Black 5-AW 1* flat KBS Tour V 90 Stiff Shafts Wedges : 52, 56, 60 Putter : Spider Red Bag : lightweight cart bag | Dry Series Bag Ball : TP5 PIX (2019) | ProV1x (2021) Rangefinder : ULT-X Pushcart : M5 GPS DHC Electric Push Cart SoCal, USA Right handed HDCP 16.

With the exception of the Bagboy Chiller bag which has the cooler right up in the top front of the bag, all my prior bags have had the cooler part on the side. It reminds me somewhat of my Bagboy Nitron push cart which is easy on the eyes too. While they are similar in style, the M7 looks like it’s on steroids with a muscular frame and heavier build. Yep it’s larger than your weekend push cart only because of the really solid frame and body. The good news is it folds as well if not better than some of the push/pull carts that have come down the pike. If you take the wheels off, it should definitely fit in the majority of vehicles. We also received a scorecard holder (I keep my score on my watch) and a device holder. I tried my phone in the device holder and it worked well however I was not willing to push the limits with my apple phone intact. The M7 might look like the Mercedes of electric carts however it’s tougher than a stud boar hawg fighting for the corn bin. It's a tough hombre because I took it through places only armoured personnel carriers and military grade humvees should travel. It bounced over rocks, roots, pine cones, mud, water, and thick wet morning rough with minimal problems. I will say when hitting pine cones and rocks, the two small wheels in front hopped around like Bubba Grimes waiting to pee during church service. I’d like to see how one large wheel would react on the M7….. With that said I’m totally sold on the frame lasting several years up to a decade and more. Easy Setup (18 out of 20 points) The M7 is practically fool proof to set up. It’s mostly assembled in the box you receive from the factory. Slide on the tires and pull them out until you hear a little click and you’re cooking with crisco. The user manual is exceptionally well written and guides you through each step with ease. No need to google instructions on the M7! On-Course (17 out of 20 points) Once you begin your first round with the M7 you are timid about where you send your cart to. It’s like jumping on your bike for the first time, you don’t want to run into old lady Gertrude’s rose bush or Uncle Felton’s fish pond. You develop skills as you continue your journey with the M7. Heck now I can cut donuts, pull wheelies, and race Bubba Jenkins and his golf cart like an old pro. Initially you have to hone your skills with the remote control however in no time at all it becomes easy peasy. I did take a spin around the yard chasing my three dogs to build my skills before I hit the course. On the course it’s a real benefit to my golf game. It frees up my mind as I’m walking towards my ball to get ready for the next shot. Not that I’m unsociable, however when you're in a golf cart with the likes of Homer Skillrider and he’s talking up a storm, you have little to no time to prepare your mind for golf stuff. I’m 70 years old and I generally walk three times per week which adds up to 7ish miles per round or 21+ miles. I LOVE the M7 because it saves my back from pushing uphill and through other rough terrain I sometimes encounter. Exercise is my friend and having a cart that allows me to walk with some speed is awesome for my cardiac and muscle tone in my legs. It’s good for you and keeps my body strong. If you don’t use it, you lose it. My push cart is a Bagboy Nitron which is an excellent non electric cart. With that said walking hands free is a totally different game which has actually elevated my golf game. I’m playing better golf now! Why? I suppose the ability to focus on golf instead of the hot chick Monroe slobbered on last night is a huge plus. M7 use of the remote (17 of 20 points) I would suggest caution when using in tight areas. When you first start your cart and you’re close behind, it will have a tendency to fishtail. Maybe it was my driving, however it will move to either side before you can right the ship. It’s like a bull with a hornet up it’s butt, don’t get in the way or you’ll be on the wrong side of a bad day. I was on a par three waiting on another fellow to hit. Well I was on the left side of my M7 and didn’t realize the wheels had been turned hard to the left. Once he hit I started moving and hit the forward button on the remote. Next thing I knew the cart was molesting me! It ran up my leg and was stomping my foot like an Italian in a grape tub. The old farts I was playing with were belly laughing with tears running down their cheeks. Yup be careful in tight areas. I would still opt for the remote system. It’s cool watching it running way ahead of you and folks in another fairway looking around scratching their heads. I love sending it to the next tee box ahead of me (pending no one is hitting). Hands free walking down the fairway is the bomb! Electric Cart Usefulness (17 out of 20 points) As I stated earlier in my review there is no doubt I have played better golf since using the M7 electric cart. It’s all about concentration for me. If I want to talk it up with a friend I will hop on their riding cart and chat all day. Catch up on the news both home and elsewhere. With that said I have seen obvious gains in consistent scoring since I began walking. I’m getting old. Hell I’m 70 now and in ten years I may slow down from walking or I may not. Even after three knee surgeries with two of them major and a broken right hip I’m a rejuvenated walker. Not pushing my cart is a huge advantage. Post round I can still be productive later in the day. Going to Little League ball games and other family events is no longer a dreaded thing. Give me an hour or two off my feet and I’m back at it. Play it or Trade it? (20 out of 20 points) Am I going back to pushing a cart or maybe selling or trading the M7? Nope ain’t gonna happen chief. It’s stuck with me for the next 10 years or so. I’m gonna ride this hoss for as long as my old arse, knees and feet can hang. The good, the bad, and the ugly: It’s good for your game to be able to concentrate while walking. It’s good for your health and keeps you young. It’s good because you don’t feel so burnt out after a round. You can get in your truck without tripping over your shoes from being dog tired. Since I started back walking two years ago, it’s good to see a few of my senior friends following suit. A couple of them are seriously contemplating an M7. One young man in his twenties is saving his money for one. Bad -- well I would say the small wheels in the front are a D- for me. They hop all over the place while you’re taking those shortcuts between tees. Pine cones, sticks and chipmunks - jk becoming stuck between the wheels causing skidding and bumping around like a dog with a porcupine stuck on his arse. I’d like to see one large wheel to keep objects from interrupting the roll. It’s a little heavy and while I understand it helps with the stability of the cart, most old folks ain’t as studly as I am. Even after taking the battery out, lifting it up in my truck is an eye opener. Most old coots, wimpy young bucks, and skinny gals will notice the weight. If the engineers could find a way to lighten it up a bit it may reach a wider audience. Fishtailing can be a problem. Small clicks for left and right turns are important however if you hang on a pine cone the small clicks don’t work as well. Hard press either way on the left/right buttons can cause sudden turns that could put you in a lake or off a bridge. Adding a large single wheel might help with the fishtailing. Ugly -- There’s nothing ugly about the M7. It’s an awesome looking cart and gathers looks all around the practice area. Total Points: 92 I would like to thank MotoCaddy and MyGolfSpy for this opportunity. Roger at MotoCaddy is a class guy who offered full assistance. It was a blast and an honor to review the MotoCaddy M7 electric cart! Well done Grasshopper!! wish I could still walk 18 holes I’d be lookin’ hard at one of these. ole gray, fozcycle and cksurfdude 2 1 Quote Rick Left Hand, Driver; PXG 0311XF Cypher 50 gr Senior 5 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 7 wood; Ping 425, Senior Shaft 55 gr 5 hybrid; Cally Steelhead, Hazardous R2 Irons; Mizuno JPX 923HM 7-GW Recoil 460 F2 Wedges; Titleist S9 54*, Mizuno SW 56* Putter; Waaay too many to list
