⛳️golf balls similar to bridgestone tour BX

TG8

Recommended Posts

I have been having great success on hitting fairways with the bridgestone tour b x golf ball.  It is an all around great performing ball. The only downfall I am noticing is greenside spin is a little low for me.
Anyone have any golf ball recommendations that are similar but with more greenside spin?
thanks.

I thing the obvious answer is the Tour B XS. Per the marketing literature, like the B X but more greenside spin.

That was an option ive been wanting to try. Not sure if my 110 swing speed will due it justice.

I'd also recommend trying the Tour B XS, if you like the Tour B X.  I find the BXS to be softer feel especially around the greens and a good ball on windy days

Tiger plays the Tour BXS. If it's good enough for Tiger, it's good enough for me! LOL!

Tour B X spins a ton greenside. If you’re not getting spin around the greens then it’s a technique issue, not a ball issue

The BXS is actually softer and one of the softest balls played on tour so should have not issues getting the performance out of it.

The BXS is quite a bit softer so I don't know how much like the X it will be. If you have the high swing speed, you are probably better off trying Srixon, TaylorMade, and Titleist X offerings to see if one spins better for you.

On a personal note I tried the TP5x yesterday and it does not spin enough for me, I hit center green yesterday with a PW and a 58 lob, and neither shot held the green. Normally play the Z-Star or ProV1.

Yeah, the TP5X is a low-spin ball like the Left Dash ProV1X or the Chrome Soft X LS. Otherwise and in general, most of the tour-level offerings go with a mid-launch, mid-spin "regular" ball (ProV1, MTB-Black, Z-Star) and then the X ball is higher launch, higher spin (Prov1X, MTB-X, Z-Star XV). Bridgestone does it a little differently...

If you want greenside spin, look for a urethane-covered, multi-layer ball where the cover and the mantle layer are significantly different in their firmness. Not to mention that if you haven't replaced your wedges in a while, fresh grooves make a world of difference.

I used to play a Tour BX and I switched to the Snell MTB-X, it’s a great ball and you’ll save some cash too.

Lol, no it's a brand new Vokey 58. It's got 4 rounds on it.

I was thinking the same thing. Last year I tried out a bunch of balls and the ball that performed the best for me was the BX. The BXS seemed to spin too much for me off the tee. And, in the MGS ball test the BX spun less off the tee and was longer than the BXS and spun more with wedge shots than the XS as well. The only downside to the BX that I could see was if you're coming from a softer ball it does feel firmer than the softer balls (BXS, ProV1, Z-star, Chrome Soft, etc.) I played a club last weekend that has tiny fast greens, and hit several full wedges, and pitch shots that held greens I normally would've struggled with, and that what sold me on them. Great off the tee as well. Just my .02. Good luck!

Mtb-x is a good ball... I played it last year to not pay Bridgestone pricing... I do think it has some more spin around the green, but I hit the Bridgestone farther...

Overall, I like the Bridgestone slightly better and am playing them this year.
