Micah T
I have to admit, I’m not loving my new sm8’s like I did previous generations... I’m noticing I just don’t hit them as far as my sm7’s or sm6’s; even took them to the launch monitor to confirm. My average 56 is 10 yards shorter than previous models; my 60 is about 12 yards shorter on average. They seem “less forgiving”; not that a blade wedge has much forgiveness to begin with. My 52 flies the same, could it be that I went with the black pvp finish on the 56 & 60?Did the CoG change? What gives? More of a draw with the Sm6 and more of a fade with the Sm8. The progressive CoG started with the SM7 so if you are used to striking it at a certain spot, that might change your launching conditions.I only replace my 60 degree every year: I didn’t notice a drastic difference between sm6 and sm7, but a big loss of distance with the sm8. With my 52 and 56, I jumped from sm6 to sm8, and while the 52 is the exact same for me, the 56 has already been benched and I’m back to the sm6. With the sm8 I just seem to hit a lot of slightly fat shots on-course, never an issue with the sm6.Sent from my iPhone using MyGolfSpy Quote Driver - Cobra LtDxLS 3 Wood - Ping g410 LST 2iron - Titleist U505 Irons - Ping i59 Wedges - Vokey Sm9 Putter - Mizuno Mcraft IV

juspoole
I actually find that I am hitting the SM8 longer than the SM6 that I had. I would say it's around 5 yards longer. The only difference is that I have the KBS Tour shaft compared to the Vokey wedge shaft that was in the SM6. I tested the SM7, but the feel was there there for me. I had something similar happen with my Callaway MD5 wedge. I got the lie adjusted and it made a world of difference! Started hitting in the same window and similar distance that I would see in my lob wedge. The more spin it has the more it wants to climb which as you are seeing may lead to less distance. This is is a typical problem people see when they switch from set wedges to specialty wedges and why you just can't gap based on the degrees of loft; you actually have to hit the club to see how far it goes. Micah T
After initially replacing both my 56 & 60 degree Sm8 with a TM high-toe 60 and a TW 56, the 60 degree sm8 has gone back into the bag, as I’m so much more accurate on short partial shots and chips with it. It dawned on me that maybe I shouldn’t be hitting my most lofted wedges all out, and sent me to the range to practice/learn how to hit knock-down and partial shots with my 56 & 52. The taylormade TW series wedges are amazing and I actually prefer it to my sm8, so I’ll bring the high toe back to Uintah golf and get the TW 60 degree, and test that head-to-head against my sm8 60 degree. cnosil 1 Quote Driver - Cobra LtDxLS 3 Wood - Ping g410 LST 2iron - Titleist U505 Irons - Ping i59 Wedges - Vokey Sm9 Putter - Mizuno Mcraft IV

KC Golf
I definitely have improved my short game after starting to take more partial wedges shots with my 9, PW, 52 and 56 vs a full / mostly full 60. I now only take a 60 out when I’m short sided (and have to take it over a bunker) or in a deep bunker with a need to get up and stop it. Taking full swings with a 60 has proven to be a poor choice for me most of the time. When I played and practiced more it was fairly consistent, but now it’s generally a disaster waiting to happen. It may not be as cool as hitting it high and sucking it back, but shots are generally closer to the pin with less disaster holes on the card. silver & black and Micah T 2 Quote TSR 3 9.0 GD Tour AD - DI 6S Stiff TSi 3 15.0 GD Tour AD - DI 6S Stiff TS3 21 Hybrid Tensei AV Blue 65 HY Stiff U-510 19 Utility Iron HZDUS Smoke Black 6.0 Stiff 5-PW 101T Irons - KBS Tour Lite Stiff - Official Tester 2023 Vokey SM9 52 F - 12 Nippon NS Pro 950 Stiff Vokey Forged 56 M - 10 DG S200 MG3 60 - 12 NS Modus3 Tour 105 Stiff Scotty Special Select - Squareback 2 - 35” / Super Stroke Slim 3.0 Z-Star Diamond Players 4 bag Official Tester - 2021 & Loyal MCC Plus 4 Sensor User

Yeah I was getting too caught up with a specific yardage, and the horrible idea that only one club could hit that yardage.
