Any correlation between wearing metal/soft spikes & driving distance on Tour? Curious if anyone has stats on this & is it an option for the tour to hold down distance.

Interesting question - science has proven that force generated from your body pushing against the ground is imperative power. Many golf instructors (Jake Hutt, gankas, Mark Blackburn) teach push/pulling ground with feet (front foot pulls on the downswing to generate more power). If traction is poor then less power can be generated. 
 

So my guess is that new plastic spikes VS metal spikes will see little no difference. Old plastic spikes vs metal, bigger difference but marginal.
