Golf Gloves

Is it necessary to remove your glove when putting? Jack Nicklaus did not. He brought this up on the Golf Channel during Masters week. He said he never removed his glove during a round because he said the thumb would stretch and after one round he would have to throw the glove away. By not removing the glove he was able to play 2 or 3 rounds with it. Any comments?

There's another thread on this very question and the results are a mix of who does and who doesn't.  Personally, I take mine off when I finish the round.  Only other time I take it off is when I stop for a bathroom break.   I get more than 2 or 3 rounds out of my gloves, but I'm no Jack Nicklaus!

It comes off after every shot. Stays off for everything with the short game.

Never wore one, With today's grip tech there's really no reason to wear one.

I prefer to take mine off just for the fact of sweat. Gives it time to air out between shots. I also don’t typically wear it on short around the green shots or putting. Grip is enough and prefer to keep the glove as dry as possible.
