oh, why didn't you say so?

ZURC and ZURS are kinda like NXTs

Well, I already play NXTs. So I guess I won't be trying to hunt those down. I hoped they were more like the Z-Stars and they had just changed the marketing name...

I liked the ZURs. I just didn't like the seam that it had. The more you played it the more pronounced that seam got.

Back to the Z-Star yellow. I find it interesting that the USGA conforming ball list has an orange one listed as well.

Here you go

ZURS

ZURC

Thanks Nic. Well, based on my initial impressions of the Z-Star, it would play closer to the ZURC. Like I said earlier, firmness wise it feels very similar to the Nike One Black, which is what they are comparing the ZURC to in the description below:

A multilayer, tour-winning golf ball for golfers seeking

tour-proven distance and spin control with a solid feel. Designed for high initial velocity off the driver for incredible distance, this ball delivers outstanding greenside spin control without sacrificing velocity or distance off the tee. While it has a firmer compression core, the super-soft cover still provides responsive feel.

How it Compares

Compared to the Z-URS, the Z-URC has a firmer feel without sacrificing greenside control. The incredible distance comes from a high initial velocity because of the higher compression core.

Compare With

Titelist® Pro V1X

Nike® One Black

Callaway® HX® Tour

Bridgestone® Tour B330®

TaylorMade® TP® Black

3-Piece Construction

• High-compression Energetic Gradient Growth Core

• Ionomer mid-layer

• Ultra-soft urethane elastomer cover

-------------------------------------------------

I'd still want the lower ball flight of the Z-Star though if these didn't deliver on that (regardless of the discount).

Callaway FT-9 Driver 9.0* Grafalloy Prolaunch Platinum

I played the ZURS for most of last year, and have switched over to the ZSTARX. The ZSTAR is a full 10-15 yards longer for me. I don't think that it is quite as responsive around the greens, but I don't play those types of shots anyway....

10-15 yards is a lot. What's the ball flight like? Similar to the ZURS?

A bit flatter and more piercing. Looks like it hits the ground and rolls out a bit better. Probably the decent angle.

Lost all three of them on the front nine... <_ contrary to the initial poster.. these can be lost i managed do it.. src="%7B___base_url___%7D/uploads/emoticons/default_smile.png" alt=":)"> Although i will say that they're very easy to find in the rough and trees.. At some point I'll pick up a box again... but for now, I'm emotionally scarred.. and the yellow wasn't very psychologically calming.. hehe

Mr. Lair, if you sink them to the bottom of a water hazard or hit them out of bounds, then yes - the color of the ball doesn't contain any mystical power that will redirect it back in play.

If somebody invented a ball with that feature I'm sure they would generate a significant amount of positive buzz... right before the USGA declared it ineligible for play. :P

Kind of like a vulture?

I prefer to look at it as me being their savior.....saving them...and faithfully and knowingly using them for their intended purpose.

Otherwise, someone that doesn't know better will buy them thinking they are range balls....and use them as lowly RockFlights -- hitting them off into a field somewhere, or into a pond.

I found a local store with about 40 dozen of them in stock if anyone is interested, they will ship.
