Shaft Options?

Recommended Posts

More than likely that’s a swing issue and not shaft.

Sometimes a shaft can influence how a person sequences a swing but without seeing either launch monitor numbers of your current setup and/or a swing nobody will be able to say or no a shaft change will eliminate that shot

Yup. Shaft is not the answer hear. Lessons is

Do you experience this with any other clubs or just the driving iron? Did you get fit for it or buy off the rack or maybe used? If this issue is limited to only this club, it is possible that something is really off on the spec with the club, like you expect it to be flat, but its actually upright, things like that.

Thanks for all the responses!  A bit more detail.

It's only this club.  If I address the ball with an open face or take it back a little outside, I can eliminate the pull/smother.  Swing speed +/-90.  It's the same lie as my other irons.  Shaft is steel/stiff.

For me, if I can't feel the head of the club in my backswing, I'm going to have a bad time... This is more a shaft balance issue than anything else... If I like the balance of the club, I usually hit it pretty decently.

I'd suggest hitting some different shafted driving irons and seeing if you get along better with one than the others, and then look up the specs of that club... headweight, playing weight and shaft.

I can't hit a heavily counterbalanced shaft at all.
