Morning All,

Title says it all, haven't replaced my wedges in maybe 10 years, but went with a 50, 54, 58 degree wedges from this year's Mack Daddy's. I would consider them a game improvement/forgiving wedge. Just played them a few times but already feeling and starting to see a difference. Anyone else playing them and would love to hear your options and results.

Are you sure they are Cleveland Mack Daddy, that's a Callaway model?   Either way the Cleveland and Callaway wedges are both great.  Glad you found something that works for you.

They are Callaway wedges designed by Roger Cleveland.  Cleveland golf and Cleveland wedges no longer have any affiliation with Roger Cleveland

Can’t speak to the Mac Daddy’s, but my SM7’s make me look highly competent, if not talented.  I have hit 3 pins from varied distances of 50-88 yds in 4 rounds.  If I tracked strokes gained metrics, I would imagine it’s at least 3 per round.

  • JohnBarry changed the title to Brand New Callaway Mack Daddy Wedges

I can't speak for the Mac Daddy wedges but I went ahead and went for Cleveland's CBX 2 in a 52° which is the wedge I play most. You need run on a lot of the greens I play most. They have definitely surprised me. I'm usually a Titleist guy but opted for a more forgiving wedge. Really seen improvement on smaller chips just off the green. Ultimately this helps my putting by keeping me closer to the hole after my chips. I would recommend.

I will sound like a broken record, but . . . Mizuno Grain Flow Forged  (GFF).  I have trouble with getting close to the green with mid irons and longer (who doesn't) but I surprise my playing partners several times each round when I drop a Mizuno 52 - 09 blue  wedge middle of the green.  I have 5 different GFF.  I use the 52 and the 60, the others are spares, and different lofts and bounce, for other occasions on different textures and sand.  Kikuya grass on a local course, or fine soft sand, versus grungy muni chunky sand.

I will play the Epic driver and report back after 2 rounds.

I was torn between the Mack Daddy and the CBX2's as far as a game improvement wedge. Both are cavity back.

I got the Callaway mack daddy CB's and my playing partners recently have been very impressed with my wedge game. They are "game improvement" but, for me, it's way more precise when you have a forgiving bounce. You can focus more on the speed of the shot and be confident that the strike will be there. Great clubs. Highly recommend
