Cobra Connect Five-Pre Challenge Chatter-Testers Announced.

@Brian A and @jlukes Last year I was sitting there waiting for the e-mail and text notifications… finally getting one… then realizing at delivery it was only PART of the order!

I was sitting there looking at the tracking going wow they got it all in one box?  So you might have 3 or 4 “longest waits in golf” to go through.

For all the testers, have you needed to make any changes to your orders? Or does it seem like the shafts/grips/heads you all ordered are going to be available?

Cant wait for the competition to get rolling!

Absolutely zero word from Cobra and it’s been about 3 weeks since we sent our orders in so I think we are assuming there are no issues with our requests

Just got a notification from FedEx that a package has shipped!

...

Checked the FedEx app and it was my belts I ordered from NexBelt 🤪

Haha I try not to get excited over UPS or Fedex notifications anymore...Yesterday I was expecting a new carseat and my order of sub70 irons...both were loaded on the truck in the morning and out for delivery...but they only dropped off the carseat and rescheduled the clubs to the next day...uh ok? lol

The most likely thing they wouldn’t have would be grips, but I think all of us listed at least two alternate grips, so even though we haven’t heard anything we might not be getting our first choice.

I also listed alternate shafts for a few clubs as well.

I will tell ya of all the clubs in the bag the fairway woods for me have always been hardest to find. Pretty much any wedge or iron will be able to figure it out, driver too. But the woods once ya find one....tough to replace.

Those are some yards right there man, impressive.

... So true Lacassem, especially for all good players. Hardest club to find and even harder to replace once you do. Just ask Henrick Stenson. Aldila VP told me he was trying to replace the BiMatrix in David Tom's 5 wood that he used to hit a hole in one at the 2001 PGA Championship but would not even try another. He was told the shaft was out dated and a new one would most definitely improve his performance but he just wasn't interested. 🤪

I had taken so many out of the bag over the years because they just never were a good fit until I took a flyer on the SIM 3W last year. It is absolutely perfect for me I just cant see anything replacing it any time soon. I will swing others I am sure but its gonna be a rascal to dethrone.

I'm not going to count this as a baseline. The white claws were flowing and I went unconscious on the greens. Proud of my round but this hurts the sandbagging effort.

The driver remains to be fantastic off the tee and I'm anxious to see how the radspeed stacks up.

I'm eager to see how the copper MIMs long and mid irons perform... The P770s are great but lacking In the 5, 6, and 7 irons.

I'm with @jlukes regarding my 3W. I hit it so well off the tee and it's a bullet from the fairway.

#TeamChad coming in hot! Pretty awesome stats for around the green.

It was a warm but windy day in the northern reaches of Bellingham. @gavinski91 paced the green, tested the wind, felt the grain of the grass. This was after all, his first potential eagle.

10 minutes prior he had no idea this moment was about to arrive. He was in the midst of the CCC#3 use every club in your bag before you could use the same one again challenge. He had strategized for this upcoming par 5 and had driver available. A well hit tee shot with a helping wind gave him a real opportunity at reaching in 2. An opportunity that he quickly seized with a well struck approach that left about 20' for eagle.

Now, on the green, an eagle truly within grasp he focused on the putt like a magnifying glass on an ant. He took aim and struck the ball pure, on pace and on line:

SmartSelect_20210603-153735_Gallery.jpg.e00c60e1b3ec1fa4604b58796203800d.jpg

With the arrogance of a Greek god he started walking it in as it approached the cup.

SmartSelect_20210603-153755_Gallery.jpg.29c9e1b6155e3d3ee4be793f3e43289b.jpg

And as the ball slid past the hole on the high side, he knew he had failed. That life was not fair, that his efforts would not be rewarded, and that maybe had worn square toed golf shoes he would have made this putt.

Capturing these moments on film were definitely my best shots of the day, and ones that I will never forget, and never let Gavin forget.

Pure gold.  You live in Whatcom County too?

First off, the Arccos Link is a real phone and apple watch battery saver. It missed just one shot but it never had a problem detecting which hole I was on...especially on some of the holes that had a close tee box and green. The battery lasted the entire round and it was great getting it linked up before the first shot and then forgetting about it the rest of the round.

If you're an Arccos user and don't like the phone in the pocket, do yourself a favor and get the link. Plus, if the cart girl asks if its a pager, just say yes and that you're a doctor on call. Win-win.

With that being said, I'm curious to see who out there uses a GPS app on their apple watch for golf. I need suggestions. I don't need my phone, link, and watch all running arccos at the same time. I do miss having the ability to check distances on my watch instead of running back to the golf cart to check the phone app or laser the flag. What do y'all like on your watch? SwingU? Golf Logix? Something else?

I have also had no issues with the Link - the all-black version looks extra sweet too for people who are on the fence.

Does Arccos have a GPS-only mode for the watch that doesn't track shots if you're using the Link?

Snuck out for 9 after my little guy went to sleep. Arccos caddie is awesome. It did not miss any shots and it was nice not having to keep my phone in my pocket. I compared distances to my Garmin Fénix 6x and my rangefinder and Arccos was spot on. I might be able to get rid of the bulky watch for rounds if Arccos continues to perform.

It rained today which messed with my putting, two three putts and one on a par 5 which stung. Overall though my driver has been dialed in so I am looking forward to how the Radspeed XB compares to my TSi3.

I go back and forth on whether I would like Arccos. I track basic stats, putts, GIRS, FIRS, penalties, so I see the value in data but I honestly hate having to fiddle with an app while playing. When I'm on the course, I'm trying to decompress and enjoy the game and being outside with friends.

Have you found that Arccos is distracting while playing?

In my very limited experience if you’re worried about distraction I’d get the link because you don’t need your phone and can play a round without distractions plus get all the analytics.

In my 3 rounds I’ve played with it so far, I love it if you have the link. As long as it is charged up and synced, you won’t have to check anything until the end (fix hole locations, move shot from rough to bunker if needed, etc).

I haven’t gotten this far yet, but supposedly Arccos caddie will start suggesting what club to hit, does that mean you need to have your phone on you to hear that? I’m not sure.

As I mentioned in a previous post, I am most nervous about replacing my current 3 wood as it is incredible for me both off the tee and off the deck

Very impressive sir!!

Don't forget that you are all in a great position, if the Cobras work then you have the old clubs as a backup. If they don't then they can move on to new pastures.

I've had Arccos for over a year and I like the stat tracking. I don't find it too distracting, but like others have said, the link is great to have if you don't want your phone in your pocket. I used to think the Apple watch was the key to ditch the phone and still free up bluetooth to play music over a speaker, but it kept missing shots and not advancing to the next hole some times. The link runs off its own GPS so it's tracking the shots and allowing you to leave your phone in the cart. I've only played one round with the link and it only missed one shot. They only reason I checked the app is because I wanted to get yardages that weren't picked up easily with the laser.

If you want to have PGA-esk stats kept on your round, then Arccos is your go-to. It is definitely the system for data junkies.

Important to note even if you are not a stats/data analyzer that Arccos is so user friendly IMO it works for anyone trying to have a fun way to look at a round (not to derail this Cobra thread) but this is where this is at for data collection anyway.

Love the details guys!

I'll echo what others have said - with the Link I leave my phone in the bag entirely. I've been keeping score on a paper scorecard (strokes, putts, penalties) as a backup, and you can use the button on the Link to set the pin location on the green so you don't have to remember that. So at the end of the round I just have to double check the number of putts on each hole, add penalties where necessary, and maybe edit a few shots (like change what Arccos thought was a putt to a chip if it was from off the green).
