I do really wish I would have gotten my choice of iron shafts (Modus 105x). Would have definitely a more “enjoyable” review for sure. But I had to play with the cards I was dealt and did my best to ignore my hatred of the shafts and what they did to my swing and focus on the club heads and how they performed

... Yup been there and done that. I have not played my 588TT's in a few years and wanted to see what they would be like in the desert. But I shafted them with VS Proto 85's for re-sale and they are just way too light for me. I played them with Recoil 110's and really liked their performance in Chicago but just had no feel for them at all with the lightweight shafts. I tip my cap to you for gutting it out.

Not to be ignored, it offered a nice insight into those wedges, which are IMO grossly underrated. 
 

The entire line is frankly, one of the better top to bottom offerings in golf.

Yup. The wedges are absolutely phenomenal. The star of the show in my eyes only because they can truly go toe to toe white any other wedge out there, and in some cases, have more bounce/grind options then the competitors outside of Vokey

... Awesome review! Your struggles with the scoring irons seems about what I would expect . I have never really understood the thinking behind the SL concept with the scoring irons. I certainly get the SL 8-fw woods but I have never heard anyone from a single digit to 25 index say their short irons are just so difficult to hit and they wish the had longer shafts.   DeChambeau hitting a 205yd 8 iron does not translate well for average golfers without tour level distance control. I would think worst case design scenario might be 1/4" shorter shafts from 8-sw and best case would be standard length sw-8 iron then SL for 7 - fw woods.

That is a very good point with distance control. I had a lot of difficulty hitting half shots ect with any scoring clubs because come to think of it, I don’t hit too many touch shots with a 6 iron (how long the OL was compared to my current irons). I agree with the shorter clubs as you get to scoring clubs, might have to Frankenstein this set to try and accomplish this.

Bummer the OL's did not fair well for you but really applaud you for trying them out.  Perhaps with continued use, you would eventually adjust your swing mechanics to make them work as well or better?  I suspect this is what concerns so many (self included) who get the physics/principle but are just concerned they will involve too big an adjustment and/or take too long doing so?

I agree, if I had more time to devote to practicing instead of playing I’m sure I could get adjusted. The biggest concern is touch shots and having mentality you’re swinging a 6 iron to go x distance. I would get too steep with wedges but maybe with more time I could shallow out my swing and get better results.

Pretty hard to really know how they would have performed with a 5th best option shaft .  I say this having now gone through several fittings and seeing first hand how much shafts matter. Glad you included your thoughts on the MIM fab technology and the question pertaining to just how close to forged they sound and feel.  I hit them at my True Spec fitting and liked their sound and feel but they just did not perform well for me.

Hey guys, I’m working on my review and hoping to at least getting some content out there to y’all soon! The weather hasn’t cooperated very well lately as you’ll see below.

I have unfortunately still not received my 3 and 5 wood. Hopefully they come in before the cold weather hits here and makes it tough to get more rounds in. 

Alabama has been hit with a couple crazy rain storms this year and this last week might have been the worst for my area. My home course got hit pretty bad with flooding issues. See pictures below. It’s going to be closed for at least 3 weeks. I’ll still get some rounds in from other courses around the area.

Good luck and three weeks seems almost too fast for that green to get back in order. Lot of hard work for that grounds crew ahead. I think they will earn some time off after that.

Yeah that one hole will be closed for a while unfortunately. The other 17 will be playable again in 3-4 weeks (maybe more if the weather doesn’t cooperate).
