Is a Cobra red-white-blue, New York Giants colored bag, in your future?

Haha nah. Going Saphire Blue

Funny thing is part of my reasoning for the black yellow was because of the MotoreX shaft so I hear ya there!

Yup, I would have gone that route if the Motore was the fit

Cool - I'm from Bellingham.  I typically talk to Jason but I've heard John can shoot really low out at Sudden Valley.  Do you play most of your rounds out at Homestead?  Have to be really straight on the back 9 there!

Yeah, Homestead is my go-to, and if I have a bit more time I’ll hit up North Bellingham or Shuksan.

Nice.  North B'ham is my home course but my father and I like to play Shuksan as well - it's quite a workout to walk!  I haven't played the new layout yet but a lot of people have told me they miss the par 3 11th.  One of the most beautiful views of Baker around.

At this rate we're all going to end up with different driver shafts! I was able to test both the Fujikura Motore X F3 S and the Aldila Rogue Silver 110 60S. The Fujikura was spinning up around 4000 rpms for me, and the Aldila brought that down to a more respectable 2700 rpms, which gained me an extra 20 yards or so of carry distance.

The question then becomes what shaft do I go with in the fairway woods? My plan is to go 3W-5W-4hy. The only FW shaft I was able to test was the Motore X F3. It worked ok, but given how much better the Aldila was in the driver I wonder if I should bite the bullet and go with that in the fairway woods as well. Seems like all the other testers so far are going with the same shaft in their driver and fairway woods, should I do the same?

Not everyone will like the same shaft in the driver and fairways, but If you’re not able to test the shaft in the fairway, your safe bet is likely to stay the same. Though the F3 does have a softer tip section that some like in a fairway wood to help with launch off the deck

That's kinda what I was thinking. The 3w will be mostly an off-the-tee club for me so I'll probably go with the Aldila. The 5w will get more use on approach shots so I am torn on that one.

@edingc I'm thinking about going with the Mitsubishi MMT Hybrid 80 shaft in my 4-hybrid. Since you play it, and you also opted for the Aldila Rogue Silver in last year's Cobra Connect Challenge, I'd love to hear your thoughts on the MMT 80 and how it compares to the UST Recoil 480 ESX (the other hybrid shaft I'm considering).

I think they are both great shafts, both mid-mid types which should be good for you in a hybrid. Both look really sharp in the bag as well. I don't think you can go wrong either way. I can't give a direct comparison because the flexes were different (I played the 480 in stiff while going to TX in the MMT), but I might give the 480 a slight edge if you like a more "active" feeling. The MMTs to me are very linear in the way they release, and I don't feel a pronounced kick point in them.

And, FWIW, I had the Rogue Silver in both my driver and 3 wood last year. It's a good shaft, especially if you need to kill a little spin.

This is the type of bag setup I should have gone with last year. That Big Tour would be a good tee club for me, I think.

It'll be interesting to see how you handle the gap between the Radspeed gap wedge and the 56 degree MIM!

That was my concern when picking clubs out that it was too big of a gap in clubs, but I thought about it and I have a 48* gap wedge now and a 52* and 56* and I rarely use my 52* unless greens are really soft and I need more roll. I figured if I can hit the bug tour off tee straighter I can make up more strokes than with a 52*

Seeing @jlukes pictures from his fitting got me thinking.... Even though the copper irons were likely outside the scope of the test, did anyone test them anyway, just for kicks? If so, was there an appreciable difference in feel?

Looking forward to this. Interesting choice of stoutness in the woods and some softness in irons. Curious how that will play.

@jlukes and I have the opportunity to game the Copper finish in the MIM irons. Looks like @jlukes decided to not go that route, but I am highly considering. I have my fitting next Monday at 1:00 PM. Hoping the copper finish doesn't distract me too much and fits my eye.

Go for it! I’d be curious is they are raw copper or protected? Green irons over time would look strange

Did they give you guys ordering clubs lead times? I know if I try to order it is 10 plus weeks for a stock set. It's time to update my single lengths but I hate waiting.

I'm wondering the same thing, although I'm sure an OEM is prepped and ready to support a test like this.

I did notice the guys are being asked to list 4 different grip choices; I'm guessing supply issue?  (I'm sure no one is complaining though...)
