Popular Post Mtbryant01
@TBS and I along with others are heading to the PGA Championship this week. We have tickets for Saturday and Sunday. If anybody else will be out there, we would love to meet up. On our way out to Kiawah, we are getting to play one of the six Reynolds Lake Oconee courses where one of the Taylormade Kingdoms is located. While we couldn’t get on to play Great Waters (top #100 to play in US), we are going to play The National. Another course we are getting to play once we get into South Carolina and near Kiawah is Seabrook Island Ocean Winds golf course. Looking forward to an awesome end of the week and weekend. I’ll update with pictures from the courses and Kiawah. vandyland, GolfSpy_APH, TBS and 8 others 11 Quote Cobra Connect 5 participant G410 Plus, w/ X stiff 75 g Project X Evenflow Black shaft driver / Radspeed w/ Smoke RDX Blue 70S shaft Big Tour 3 wood/ 5 wood w/ Fujikura X F3 60S shaft 4 Hybrid w/ Project X Catalyst 80S shaft Copper MIM Tour Irons w/ KBS $ Taper Balck 120S shaft Snakebite 50, 54, and 58 wedges w/ KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 125S shaft Newport 2.5 putter MTB X golf balls RH, Alabama
TBS
Anyone who was there in 2012 have tips on best places to stand and watch? With a limited crowd, we are hoping to follow a group for part of each day as well. ejgaudette
This sounds like a great trip and hope you enjoy it. I am holding out for the US Open which is coming to Mass in the coming years, which is as close as professional golf will get to me. Any groups you are interested in following or planning to find a good location to watch the groups come through. Look forward to hearing about the trip. Since we have tickets for the weekend, it’ll be hard to project who we are going to follow. I personally would like to follow someone who maybe isn’t a top dog but is in the top 10-15 on the leaderboard chasing his first major. With the field of spectators being limited, I’m hoping we can get close to some players and listen in on some conversations between their caddies (assumptions are that they hit their ball by the spectators and not boring fairway finders). Of course I want to be behind a tee shot of Bryson’s, but he’ll probably have a big following, so I probably won’t follow him if he makes the weekend. It was an amazing experience to just walk around Kiawah’s clubhouse, eat a meal, and then have a drink sitting in the Adirondack chairs that overlook 18. Ugh. I would LOVE to go back there one day!!! Mtbryant01
My group left today for Kiawah from Alabama. On the way, we stopped at Reynolds Lake Oconee, saw the Taylormade Kingdom and got to play a course. We got to tour The Kingdom before our round. Here’s some photos I gathered. There are 2 retired Taylormade tour trailers on site at The Kingdom. They put together irons and woods along with grinding wedges in these trailers. here is what the Tour Taylormade trailer looks like now...pretty crazy. Below are some hitting bays that people hit out of during off season/bad weather. Each of the range bays had trackmans and cameras in every corner to analyze every part of your swing if needed. Otherwise, there is a nice large range to hit into. This range is shared with another country club, so when pros come and visit, they have to hit into a pinestraw area off to the side to avoid hitting people on the other side. Another cool feature inside The Kingdom was The Putter Lab. They had sensor technology on all the putters that can analyze your putting technique and what You could improve. last but not least, here’s a picture of all the pros that have visited there. Next post will talk about the Reynolds Lake Oconee and The National Course we played.. sirchunksalot, TBT, ejgaudette and 1 other 4 Quote Cobra Connect 5 participant G410 Plus, w/ X stiff 75 g Project X Evenflow Black shaft driver / Radspeed w/ Smoke RDX Blue 70S shaft Big Tour 3 wood/ 5 wood w/ Fujikura X F3 60S shaft 4 Hybrid w/ Project X Catalyst 80S shaft Copper MIM Tour Irons w/ KBS $ Taper Balck 120S shaft Snakebite 50, 54, and 58 wedges w/ KBS Hi-Rev 2.0 125S shaft Newport 2.5 putter MTB X golf balls RH, Alabama

My buddy and I did a TM fitting several years ago at the TM lab at Redstone in Houston (former home of Shell Houston Open) the put you in a jacket with sensors all over it and it did like a video game person of you on the computer and tracked all of the data from your swing. After the fitting the TM rep took us out to play the tournament course since he didn’t have any more appointments...he said if he took clients then he got to play free..lol Mtbryant01 1 Quote XR Driver Matrix Ozik 8m3 Black Tie Shaft King F7 3W UST Mamiya Chrome Elements 7F4 Shaft King F7 5W UST Mamiya Chrome Elements 7F4 Shaft King F7 4 Hybrid Graphite Designs Tour AD-HY 95 Shaft PXG 0211 DC 5-PW Mitsubishi MMT 80 Shafts RTX ZIPCORE 50*,54*,58* UST Mamiya Recoil 95 Shafts Metal X Milled #7 with SuperStroke 2.0 grip MTB Twitter: @timldotson Instagram: timldotson Facebook: TimDotson
Mtbryant01
We got to play one of the six courses here at Reynolds Lake Oconee, The National. If you ever get a chance to try and play out here, it’s incredible. Nestled in a community, each course has its own unique design whether it’s along the lake (Great Waters) or rolling hills through the community (The Preserve). Will be back to play the others when I can. https://www.reynoldslakeoconee.com/life/golf The National, designed by Tom Fazio, has 3-9 holes golf courses. We ended up playing the Bluff and Cove course from the Tips just over 7000 yards. Every fairway was pretty tight with rolling and sloping hills. Greens were in great shape and unique designs with the undulations throughout. Some par 5s were reachable, others were not and pretty tough. Par 3s were all downhill and made it tough to judge the distance with the wind. Here are some photos of some of the holes.
