Popular Post Golfspy_CG2
The MGS Home Page has a great first look by Dave Wolfe at the two new lines of the Cobra Putter release, but here are a bunch of stock images that the blog piece may not have room for. Just consider it a gratuitous photo dump. Any questions on specs of any particular models, I'd be happy to answer or I'm sure all the info will be on Cobragolf.com as well. As mentioned in the article, the 3D Putters use the technology to create some great weight savings and include the SIK face technology. The Vantage line also uses the SIK technology in a more conventional design. Golfspy_CG2
COBRA GOLF INTRODUCES THE KING VINTAGE FAMILY OF PUTTERS FEATURING SIK FACE TECHNOLOGY AND AN ADJUSTABLE WEIGHT SYSTEM With Model Names Inspired by Classic Cars, This Line of High-Performance Putters is Fittingly Designed for Golfers Who Love a Classic Looking Putter Carlsbad, Calif. (May 19, 2021) - Cobra Golf®, a leader in golf club innovation, announced today one of two new putter families under the KING umbrella. The KING Vintage Series of putters blends classic shapes with modern and innovative performance. The family includes four unique shapes: a blade (Sport-45 & Sport-60), mallet (Torino), fang (Nova & Nova-40) and an oversize mallet (Stingray & Stingray-40) with model names that are inspired by classic sports cars. The putters feature a steel chassis, simple sightlines for alignment, and a black and turbo yellow color scheme. With multiple shapes, hosels, and an adjustable weighting system, the Vintage family has a variety of options for any style of putting stroke. Additionally, COBRA engineers worked with SIK Golf and Bryson DeChambeau to design improved roll in a soft yet crisp feeling aluminum face insert. Utilizing SIK’s patented Descending Loft Technology (DLT), which features four descending lofts on the face, to produce the most consistent roll trajectory for different putting strokes and angles of attack. The KING Vintage Sport-45 ($249): · Features a traditional blade shape with a plumber neck hosel. A 45-degree toe hang is designed for players with a slight arc that desire a blend of stability and control. The construction consists of a 304 stainless steel chassis with single sightline for improved alignment. An aluminum face insert is designed with SIK’s DLT which utilizes four descending lofts (4°, 3°, 2°, 1°) to ensure the most consistent and accurate roll trajectory for descending, neutral and ascending attack angles. The Sport-45 putter is equipped with two 20g sole weights that can be adjusted to +5g or -10g each to tune the overall head weight. The custom weights (10g, 15g, 20 and 25g) are sold separately through custom and on COBRA’s website. Golfspy_CG2
COBRA GOLF INTRODUCES THE FIRST COMPLETE LINE OF 3D PRINTED MULTI-MATERIAL PUTTERS A 3D Printed Multi-Material Construction, High MOI design, with SIK Face Technology & COBRA Connect’s Data Tracking, Deliver An Industry First; Taking Putter Performance & Design To The Next Level Carlsbad, Calif. (May 19, 2021) - COBRA Golf announced their first foray into the putter world in 2020, when they partnered with HP to become the first OEM to launch a commercial, 3D printed metal putter with the limited-edition KING SuperSport-35. Today, COBRA announced its official entry into the putter market with the KING 3D Printed Series - its first complete line of 3D Printed multi-material putters. The putters feature a 3D printed nylon lattice cartridge created using HP’s advanced Multi-Jet fusion printing technology. The 3D printed lattice structure optimizes the weight distribution within the putter chassis to deliver a high MOI design for enhanced stability and roll performance in three distinct models – The GrandSport-35 (OS Blade), SuperNova (OS Fang), and the Agera (OS Mallet). The KING 3D Printed Putter Series is the result of a multi-year collaboration between COBRA and HP that began with the launch of the LE SuperSport-35 putter. Since then, COBRA engineers have worked with HP to transition from Metal Jet (metal 3D printing) to Multi-Jet (Nylon) 3D printing to capitalize on the weight-saving benefits of nylon (which is about half the mass of aluminum). The intricate 3D printed lattice cartridges cannot be produced using traditional manufacturing methods and are crucial to creating discretionary weight and creating the highest MOI possible in each putter model. In addition to optimizing weight, the lattice cartridge serves as a supporting structure to the body and damps vibrations and fine tunes sound. Each model features a steel chassis, a forged aluminum crown, tungsten weights, and a SIK Face Insert to deliver unmatched stability and roll consistency on every putt. COBRA partnered with SIK Golf to employ their patented Descending Loft Technology (DLT), which features four descending lofts on the face to produce a consistent launch angle and roll for different putting styles and stroke consistencies. COBRA engineers utilized the SIK’s DLT to create COBRA’s version in a 6061 aluminum insert which gives the advantage of weight savings and soft, yet crisp feel at impact. Using HP’s proprietary 3D Printing Technology combined with SIK Golf’s DLT has enabled COBRA to introduce a revolutionary putter line that changes the way putters are designed and advances performance in the putter category. “We’re extremely excited launch our new family of 3D printed putters, continuing our partnership with HP, utilizing their Metal Jet Technology to innovate and transform the way golf equipment is manufactured through the use of 3D printing, an extremely effective process in the design and development of our new putter line,” said Jose, VP Marketing & Product Architecture, Cobra Golf. “We are extremely excited for golfers to try our new 3D printed putters, while each is unique, they all deliver advanced stability, forgiveness and roll performance that will make putting easier for golfers of all levels.” The KING GrandSport-35 ($349): features an oversize blade shape and boasts an MOI comparable to other OS mallets on the market. A plumber neck design creates a 35-degree toe hang that is ideal for players with a slight arc to their putting stroke. A multi-material construction features a 268g steel chassis, 21g forged aluminum crown, and an intricate 3D printed nylon lattice cartridge. Nylon is roughly half the weight of aluminum and enables weight to be removed from the center of the clubhead and repositioned to the heel and toe areas for increased MOI and forgiveness. In addition, 30g of combined tungsten weights in the heel and toe enhances perimeter weighting for greater stability on off-center hits. For enhanced roll performance, an aluminum face insert features SIK’s DLT which utilizes four descending lofts (4°, 3°, 2°, 1°) to ensure the most consistent and accurate roll on every putt. An aluminum insert creates significant weight savings over a solid steel face while simultaneously providing excellent feel with ample feedback. Other features include a Tri-Plane sole with center relief for added versatility and a single sightline for improved alignment. The GrandSport-35 is available in right and left hand in 34” and 35” lengths through stock (other lengths available through custom). The GrandSport-35 shape is also available in a 41” armlock model with an oversize Lamkin Armlock grip. An armlock configuration is suited for players who seek maximum consistency in their stroke and prefer to rest the grip and shaft against their lead forearm. The Armlock model features an aluminum SIK face insert with more loft than the standard GrandSport-35 (7°, 6°, 5°, 4°) to account for forward shaft lean during the stoke. Like the rest of COBRA’s KING products, the KING 3D printed Grandsport-35 putters are equipped with a lightweight polyurethane Lamkin Sinkfit CONNECT Grip with an embedded sensor that pairs with the Arccos Caddie app. The KING SuperNova ($349) features an oversize fang design with a MOI over 5700 for extreme stability on off-center hits. The incredible stability is achieved using a 3D Printed multi-material construction with two 3D printed nylon lattice cartridges, a 291g steel chassis, 18g forged aluminum crown, and 42g of combined tungsten on the perimeter extremities. The two 3D printed lattice cartridges use a lightweight nylon material to optimize weight distribution within the chassis making the MOI of the SuperNova greater than other fang-style mallets on the market today. An aluminum SIK face insert features descending lofts of 4°, 3°, 2°, 1° to provide consistent roll and launch characteristics for every style of putting stroke. The KING SuperNova is equipped with a lightweight polyurethane Lamkin Sinkfit CONNECT Grip, and is available in right and left hand in 34”, and 35” lengths through stock (other lengths available through custom). The KING Agera ($349) features an oversize mallet shape and an MOI over 7600, making it one of the most stable putters on the market today. The design features a 3D printed nylon cartridge, 261g steel chassis, 27g forged aluminum crown, and extreme tungsten weighting. The intricate 3D printed nylon lattice cartridge removes unnecessary mass from the center and allows it to be redistributed to the perimeter in the form of 53g of combined tungsten to increase MOI. Like the other putters in the KING 3D Printed Series, the Agera also features an aluminum face insert with SIK’s DLT with four descending lofts (4°, 3°, 2°, 1°) to provide optimal launch and roll consistency for all putting strokes. The KING Agera putter is equipped with a lightweight polyurethane Lamkin Sinkfit CONNECT Grip, and is available in right and left hand in 34”, 35”, and 37.5” (ONE Length) stock length (other lengths available through custom). A 41” Armlock model is also available, and comes with a special oversize Lamkin Sinkfit CONNECT grip for players who prefer to rest the grip and shaft against their lead forearm during the stroke. The SIK Face insert on the armlock model is designed with slightly higher descending lofts (7°, 6°, 5°, 4°) to account for forward shaft lean in an armlock setup. Each putter in the KING 3D Printed Series is equipped with a COBRA CONNECT™ grip Powered by Arccos Caddie, the award-winning smart golf system that helps players of all skill levels make smarter, data-driven decisions. The grips feature electronically enabled embedded sensors that sync with the Arccos Caddie app on the user’s Smart device to provide in-depth putting data. With the purchase of a putter, users can unlock a 90-day free trial to the Arccos Caddie system, which utilizes Artificial Intelligence to make better on-course decisions for lower scores. Golfers who use Arccos Caddie typically improve, on average, 3.6 strokes on their handicap in the first year. All putters will be available for pre-order today at cobragolf.com and key retailers and will ship June 4, 2021. For more information on KING 3D Printed putters visit, www.cobragolf.com. M. ejgaudette
That is a let down on the face balance only as that Agera with the open middle look absolutely great, but love a good slant neck on a mallet. Overall great looking line up and the continued partnership with SIK is interesting but nice to see. That SIK face and 3D printing gives them a great marketing/tech story on the putters which is not always something the marketing team has to talk about given the limited tech in putters. Also interesting to see the move to the 3D printed nylon to save weight then build it back with those inserts. The lattice and 3D printing seems to give the advantage to use a material like that with the lattice to save that weight. M. But I'll admit there is something cool about saying your putter is 3D printed As I was telling someone else a bit earlier, the Sik face really has me intrigued now. I honestly hadn't paid much attention to it before. But after seeing a few videos in the presentation of the putters, I can see the reason for the design behind it. xOldBenKenobiX, ejgaudette, Thin2win and 2 others 5 Quote G430 Max 10K TSiR1 15.0 Aldlia Ascent 60g TSR2 18.0 PX Aldila Ascent 6og TSi1 20 Aldila Ascent Shafts R T350 5-GW SteelFiber I80 SM10 48F/54M and58K S159 48S/52S/56W/60B Select 5.5 Flowback 35" ProV1 Play number

RickyBobby_PR
Interesting to see them jump into the putter market. Talking to Yeagley several years back he was part of the pushback on getting into the ball market. With the numbers of companies doing putters and some of the smaller brands like Cleveland being a brand you don’t see much of on the course in curious to see what success they have. These are all similar styles to existing and pretty well entrenched brands and priced similar. sirchunksalot 1 Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1
GolfSpy_APH
Thanks for posting and sharing I will admit I am very intrigued by these. A lot of them suit my eye from the photos and it is nice to see there are a few that are LH available. Cobra has done a much better job with that recently then in the past where they had many clubs I would love, but they were RH only. I'll be sure to give them a try when I see them in my area. Berg Ryman
As a current SIK owner, I think it's awesome they were able to partner with Cobra to get the tech story out there in a way that's slightly more affordable and should lead to other people giving them a try. I haven't been playing well tee to green this year while I've been trying to get wider in the swing, but the SIK Flo was well worth the investment. Two straight rounds with no three puts, first since 2019. I think these are going to be intriguing for people to get in their hands to test for sure. Hope it works out well for Cobra. I am really digging the color combination Cobra had gone with this year. I really, really hope these are a surprise test for the guys in CCC5. I would love to see some members here getting to test and review them! GolfSpy_SHARK, xOldBenKenobiX and GolfSpy_BNG

Thin2win
First Koenigsegg, now Cobra. I'd happily take home either Agera. Honestly as close to release as these were I’m kinda surprised that they didn’t add them to CC5 to try a get a little buzz going The release date of the line moved several times over the past couple months, due to all the supply issues and other logistics. And at this point I guess it was just too close to call and not knowing what the retail demand will be they probably couldn't commit to it. We have had that issue with many OEM's this spring in testing, that the supply vs demand is so tight, some of them don't know what they can commit to for marketing/testing opportunities. But yeah, it would have been great to have gotten them in the challenge as well. 03trdblack
I'm really digging the Agera but am having a hard time understanding the point of the 3D printed material in the middle, other than purely for marketing purposes. I'm sure they say it was to save weight but they would have saved a lot more by leaving the 3D printed layer out completely since air weighs less than Nylon. Wouldn't just having the top and bottom sections only freed up even more weight to put in the four corners of the head? I guess they could have 3D printed the alignment line in the middle but it still wouldn't have needed to make it so large of a structure.
