I'm excited as well. I am hoping i get the same good front to back dispersion that i was seeing. My 50 degree wedge shots at the fitting were all going about 100 yards. With my current wedges, I feel like there is too much distance variability between shots, even on what i believe to be good strikes.

I have been playing with a used Edel e-3 putter for the last 3 year off and on but life happens to be taking me to Austin on Tuesday so I made an appointment for a wedge and putter fitting at the Edel HQ.  Reading your post has me so excitied since I rely on my short game to score.

That’s awesome! I was at the HQ in Liberty Hill about 5 years ago and was able to meet David Edel and the whole gang! Great people, great products, ridiculous fittings! You’ll have a blast! Enjoy, and I can’t wait to hear what you end-up with!

Sounds pretty sweet and would definitely like to give it a try.

But can't seem to find any fitters outside the US. I remember seeing a fitter in Germany for Edel putters a few years back, but can't find it anymore.

Great write up PM. As always your reviews are detailed and on point.  I think wedge fitting will be the next big thing in players bags.  I am amazed at how exact the system is to identify what groove you are striking the ball with.  Keep it up and let us know when they arrive.

And that’s just TrackMan, which should be available to anyone that has one. I never knew it gave all of the path and impact depth info until this fitting because I’ve only ever done driver and iron fittings with it, and no one ever pulled-up that info when fitting for irons. It’s pretty cool to know it’s there! The bounce change effects were immediately seen using that part of the program. Really neat to see how depth of divot, path, spin, etc were all changing.

i looked on their site and it seems like i’d have to trek into NYC for an edel fitting. they could be worth their weight in gold, but that’s enough to keep them out of my hands

Totally understandable. I drove 5 hours to do a putter fitting the first time… There aren’t a lot of Edel fitters at this point. Ugh.

@PMookie & @dlow206 I've been looking at the Edel website quite a bit the past few days, and I know that their irons are single length, so I was wondering if that plays into the wedges as well?  I saw that yours are +1", but are they all the same length, or do they vary like most wedges?

By standard spec, the Edel wedges vary in length, but you can order them to match if you want

Standard Length Specs 46°-53° = 35.5", 54°-57° = 35.25", 58°-62° = 35"

Damn - these fittings from you and @dlow206 just keep making more angry at Edel for not offering anything for a Left Handed golfer.  Would be nice if they tried to do something.

I was in Jackson, MS, today and went by the store so we could call Edel and finalize the order. All that needed ironing out were the shafts.

Edel is going to come-through for me and get me the Nippon Modus 130 Stiff shafts. They’re going to be soft-stepped, but I can’t remember if they’re doing it just once or twice…. The builds should start Thursday, and I should have them within a couple weeks!!!!

I’m sure the micro grooves are part of the reason the Edel tests showed increases in backspin of 10%. Mine went up about a 1000 vs my Vega wedges

I REALLY like the look of the new Edel wedges, PARTICULARLY the C grind.

A 48-54-60 set, 1º flat, 6º up from my 9-iron,  with shafts and grips to match my irons,

would probably be right down my alley, but I don't know where I could try them.

I've been burned too often ordering stuff on faith that it would suit me.

Could be wrong, but it I remember right Edel's site has a spot where they list out fitters that stock their stuff, might be worth looking into.
