A hybrid will be joining the bag, I just need to figure out which one. TE CBX 119 seems the leader in the clubhouse, but will consider other options right now. I switched my TaylorMade RBZ 5 wood for a Ping G30 hybrid several years ago. I’m really happy with the change. rbgntx
I dumped my 19 degree Steelhead Hybrid for a higher lofted wedge. I hadn't seen much of a distance gap between the Hybrid and the 17 degree fairway so I said goodbye. I came across a second hand Ping 7 wood at a store in Dallas and decided to give it a try in place of my 22 degree hybrid. So far it appears to be a keeper. It is easier to hit and and I can control trajectory easier with it than the hybrid. I've been going back and forth between my 20 year old Ping B60 and my sixties vintage Bullseye. Might be time to look and more recent technology in the putter realm. MattWillGolf 1 Quote Callaway Driver, 4 and 7 fairways. Mizuno 923 Hot Metal 6-LW. jneff11
I've rotated out an ole Adams Idea 3 Hybrid for a TaylorMade Sim Made 3 Hybrid stiff gaining 15 - 20 yards more. That resulted in a 15 - 20 yard gap between my 5 iron and the new hybrid. I've been working on hitting my 5 iron true to reduce that gap. Nunfa0
Since the start of the year I have changed my wedges from the Cobra Kings to Cleveland RTX zipcores. The Cobras were just not spinning the way I wanted and they were set 2* upright which is not good for me now. A spur of the moment purchase was a Rife Barbados putter as a back up to the Rife two bar Hybrid. The Barbados is in the bag and rolling really well. As some of you may know I am in the process of looking for new irons. I thought I had found them but thanks to supply chain issues and obviously the demand for them it looks like its not to be (unless I am willing to wait till next year for them). I need to go to stiff shafts again and standard lies thanks to successful hip replacement surgery. I have a fitting day booked for Titleist on the 25th and I'm quite keen on the T100s but we shall see. KC Golf
Swapped my TM M3 driver to a Titleist TSi3. Still need to play around with the new weight in the back its set to neutral. Switched to new GP MCC Midsize grips. Put the heaviest SuperSpeed Golf red into my bag for warmups before the round. Tried adding a less lofted TM FW wood, but gave up on it since it wasn't as consistent as my old Titleist FW. Will try lowering the loft on the Titleist to get better launch angles. Lastly, put in an 18" plastic ruler ($7 from Amazon) into my side pocket of my bag to check alignment on the practice green before my round. Golf.com did an interview with Aaron Baddeley and he got this drill from Butch Harmon. Using it for 10 ft straight putts with the ball starting in the middle on top of the ruler. Its been working great for me. Strokes gained in putting from strokes lost last year. For style points got a new FW cover and a putter cover from Stitch. Will have to do the WITB at some point. JFish350
What a cool thread to read through. Good luck to you all on thew changes, I hope everything works out for everyone. Changes to my bag this year would be Dust. Haven’t been able to play since early March due to shoulder surgery. That said, changes coming will be a new 7 iron Callaway XHOT, 4 iron Callaway XHOT, 1 iron Titleist U15 due to an unfortunate bad fall and these 3 plus my driver shafts breaking. Once I get back I’ll have to asses if I want to spend the money on re-shafting the irons or bite the bullet on a complete new set later this summer or early fall and be ready to roll next season. cnosil and Nunfa0 2 Quote Sub 70 949 D 9* HZRUDS 60G 6.5 smoke RDX shaft.
