Thanks for all your efforts over the years Rob. I’ve enjoyed reading about your club hoing, sorry, quest for better equipment for a long time, even prior to your moderator role.

Thank you @Golfspy_CG2for all your hard work. As sorry as we all are to see you move one, anyone who's held the job knows it has an expiration date, and I'm very  happy for your new opportunities. Your group really took the forum to new places, upgraded the usefulness and functionality and pushed it light years ahead of where it was. For that, you, MPR and John-Scott, along with past mods and directors during your tenure deserve the very highest of fives. You have plenty to be proud of. 

It's funny - I've been a part of this space since I think 2012. Only a handful of Spies from that time are still active - @revkev, @fozcycle, @MattF and a few others (sorry if I missed you). The nature of a forum is transitory, but its the effort by folks like you that make this a truly special place. Said it before, but the MGS Forum is pretty unique. It's imperfect, of course, but it stands out as an open, welcoming and friendly place where you don't have to kiss anyone's a**, can be honest about equipment and where you won't be ridiculed if you don't hit it 300 down the middle every time. 

So congrats Rob on a great tenure and best of luck on your new endeavors. I know you'll kick ass and take names. 

And on a personal note, thank you for letting me pull the trigger on that one thing I'd been bugging you about since Day 1. It was everything I hoped it would be

I'm very happy for your new position my friend - what a year you've had.  I'm also honored to be posting after Mr. Theo - miss having you around bud.  Let me know if ever you make another Florida stop.

Each moderator has added something unique to the mix.  I hate when they go and disappear and am very thankful when they step back but remain as active forum members.  I also understand that often the reason for stepping back is that their life got a bit more hectic.  That's usually a good thing.

Best wishes Rob - I'm still saying you need to add the SIM2 to your driver mix.

I don’t think we can say thank you enough for everything you contributed as a moderator and admin for this site.     From regular posts, private messages, and testing threads you’ve been nothing but great to talk to and work with. Rob initially was MGS Rob when he promoted just to confuse the heck out of all of us because he was GC2 before that. We were all happy when he changed it even though we knew who we was it was nice to see his original name back. 
 

Rob you’ve done great at your job and everything you’ve done has been great. It was nice to talk to you on here before you came a mod and as you were a mod. I definitely need to make the drive down your way and get a round in with you and some others at some point.

Yep, the backlash of going from CG2 to Golfspy_Rob as my moderator name was immediate and loud and clear.   Ha  Yeah, so I joined as CarolinaGolfer2 (for those who don't know what CG2 stood for)  and often got abbreviated as CG2 in conversation as we all do. 

Then the promotion to Moderator began the above mentioned change.   I'll be keeping this current name for a while at least as I continue to help out here and there.  Maybe one day it will return to CarolinaGolfer 2

Thanks Brian, and yes you can definitely relate to that.  I mentioned that to someone via PM the other day, it will be a lot easier to pop in to read and post for 10 minutes or so from time to time, than try and set aside 30 minutes for Admin duties etc.

@Golfspy_CG2 I too have sent my share of emails to misbehaving co-workers and customers...maybe I can help the mods write a few of those! Thanks for your insight on the golf industry and for answering so many questions I had during the few tests I have participated in. Look forward to your continued contributions and wisdom on the forum. And I agree with someone above who said you need to add the SIM2 to your driver challenge!

After almost 4 years of serving as Moderator, Forum Director and Staff Admin.  It's unfortunately come time that I need  to re prioritize my time commitments. I'm stepping away from my day to day activities/duties of Forum Director and taking on more of advisory role and doing some odds and ends things to help out the moderators and of course @GolfSpy_THV and @GolfSpy MPR as they continue to lead the forum.

I've taken on the responsibility of overseeing another course in our portfolio and it's going to require a lot more of my time and attention.  As such I won't have the time needed to properly serve as a day to day Staff Admin.  You'll still see me around doing some things here and there like running the final two Majors Contests Pools.  Posting any newsworthy releases I get from the OEM's and of course just posting my usual club buying and testing adventures.   

I'm not going away, I promise you that. The staff is in good hands now with THV and MPR and the new additions of @GolfSpy_TCG and @GolfSpy_CS  I'll just be watching from the practice squad ready to fill in if needed and available. 

As I've said, many times over the years, this forum is so great because of the members, you guys made this job easy. We have had to do so little moderating that it allows us to do other cool fun things and not have to worry about what's being posted where.  That is so unusual in this day and age of forums.

Lastly, I have to give a huge thank you to @GolfSpy Barbajo @hckymeyer and @GolfSpy_X for giving me this opportunity several years ago, and for supporting the Admin staff in everything we do, in more ways than you guys will ever know.   Adam is an awesome owner, and Barbs is one the best and most professional dudes I've ever had the chance to "work" with if you call this work!    

Now, I've got a new update to my driver challenge to post soon, so as Miranda would say  "We Out!" 

 

 

 

Wow dude I just now saw this and although you are scaling down the mountain no doubt you will be still on top of the world.  Great job Rob and I have enjoyed following you over the years.  You are a true class act and add to any endeavor you take on.  I'm looking forward to seeing what your next set of irons will be....

Just seeing this, and I wanted to extend a giant THANK YOU to @Golfspy_CG2 for all the incredible work he's done here.

Rob and I met through another golf forum and we quickly became "internet friends" there, exchanging personal emails and chatting about many other non-golf topics. He was instrumental in my joining here by continually talking up what a friendly, civil, and well-informed group of posters there was over here at MGS. He was not wrong, my friends.

Doing volunteer work of any sort can be tough sometimes, and I know Rob & the rest of the mods have done an amazing job. I'll offer Rob my congrats for being handed a bunch of new responsibilities at work, and I know he'll be awesome there.

Thanks guys.  To kinda put a different twist on a pop culture saying.  You two (and a few others here ) are my brothers from another mother

so glad we all found a true internet home where the members are the most important part.
