Euro Event

With school out I’m not so rushed in the morning and have flipped on the European event from Sweden.  
 

I was able to do the same thing last Friday and fell in love with the course they were playing. It reminded me of Black Wolf Run in Koehler, WI.

This tournament has a number of women playing in it but from a different set of tees. They are talking about them making the cut.  Surely it’s a separate tournament. You couldn’t allow competitors in an event on a major world tour to compete from different tees?  But I’m seeing some of the ladies names on the leader board.

 

Oh well - the play is outstanding - Annika is playing, so nice to see that remarkable swing knocking the ball 270 down the middle regardless of what’s going on with the format.

 

As an additional observation Stenson needs to learn how to hit driver if he wants to truly compete again. You can’t keep giving up 30 or 40 yards all the time. The game has changed right under his nose I think.

This is why the European tour is so good.  The experiment and try new ideas….mixed event, shot clocks, interviews while playing, etc.   different tees help equalize the players so they are hitting the same basic clubs into green.  Also shows that the ladies can play some great golf and showcases their talent

Maybe they should let Stenson move up a set, too.

One of the things that I like about the European tour is that they seem to let nature take its course far more than the PGA tour. You feel as if that’s the way the course would be if you showed up to play it on any given day.

 

Could be because they play in so many different places around the world but that’s what it looks like to me.

Lady Tiger.  She is truly an amazing golfer and, crazy as it sounds, not really lost all that much in her stats.

She’s the goat beyond a doubt.  Loved seeing her play.

The more I watch the more I’m enjoying this event. I think it’s time for the LPGA and PGA to get together and reinstate a mixed team event or else with Wahn st the helm perhaps the USGA could start another championship.

 

Great way to see that they women can hold their ball pretty dog gone well.
