Mr. ShortGame - grip change

Anyone try to "receive the club" in their left hand (rightie) to grip the club? For the first time, I can make a full turn. At 4:15 the tip starts. Mr. SG is a bit odd.

Maybe; maybe not.  Tips are good for some people and not good for others.

At the very least it's a good reminder to focus on fundamentals periodically in a practice session.  Grip, set up, ball position, alignment can get out of whack slightly and not be noticed.  Then you wonder why that certain pattern of mishit shots shows up in your game.

Try not to think about my grip when I am setting up.  Feel I have a pretty good solid grip.  Arnie always emphasized that the grip is the most important part of your game.  Thanks for the info.  Gives some a choice to change if they feel they need to.  With respect.

Mr. ShortGame used to bug me because he would try/review new training aids (Planemate comes to mind), and he doesn’t always read the directions, and then precedes to use the training aid incorrectly, hurt his back, and then gives it a bad review. However, I watch all of his videos now, and have learned to take some of what he says, and ignore some of the other stuff. And I have been putting this video in the back of my mind as I stand behind the ball looking for my target…if nothing else, it helps me to be mindful of my grip.

This tip is a good reminder. It’s a good way to check your right hand on the club while practicing.

I watch MSG all the time. I find most of his tips excellent and his sense of humor makes his videos worth watching. The video he did on chipping has lowered my scores by 5 strokes.
