Titleist CNCP purchase and review

I went to TrueSpec for a club fitting about 2 months ago.  I'm a typical 13 index but have flashes of being able to get to a 10 index.   I've always had the same issues, very low ball flight and fairly high landing dispersion.  Sometimes I can control it, most times I can't.  I decided to go to TrueSpec and had a fantastic experience.  I wrote a review of this process back in late April on another thread.  The result is that I choose to spend a ridiculous amount of money on the Titeilist CP-04 irons with Mitsubishi shafts.  The data from all my swings at TrueSpec was very clear.  The CP-04 flew much higher and had a very tight distribution.

Now that I finally have them (different issue), I can say definitively that for me, these were the perfect choice.  I went from averaging 2 - 3 GIRs, to now 7-8 GIR per round.  The distance is slightly better and only seems to be different as I get to the shorter irons.  My 9 iron goes about 5-10 yards longer, was 130 and now closer to 140.  I didn't buy these for the distance, I bought them for the flight and dispersion.  Without question, they've improved my game.

The most surprising thing to me is that they perform the exact same on the course that they did in the TrueSpec studio.  I went in thinking I would buy another set of Mizuno or maybe Callaway irons.  But the data was so obvious, I couldn't ignore it.  I struggled with the cost, the heads were $500.00 each and the shafts were $180.00...just stupid.  But hey, I just retired and I'm playing more golf.  My swing isn't going to change at 62 so I decided to see if I could "buy" a better game.

I've read a number of reviews and the clubs get dinged for the cost, and they should.  Other folks complain about the "game improvement" type of irons that these are, but hey, who cares.  All I wanted were results.  The heads have a classic look and aren't too big or bulky.  TrueSpec did a great job building them up because I can feel the balance in the club and shaft.  If you can afford these, I'd highly recommend them.  The results speak for themselves.  My first couple of real rounds with them were 82, 84 on a course I play frequently.  I know the distances each of my previous clubs went to and can see these results.

Happy to answer questions.

I have tried the Concept irons during most wanted testing and yes they are great clubs.   As a non retired person with a child in college I can’t justify the cost.

Always good  to hear fitting success stories since we mostly hear about the bad experiences.
