Great win for English!  Love his swing and demeanor.

You try to make par from where they did.

I think Kenny was kidding.

I’ve played that course countless times and 18 even from the members Tees is a bear.  I only birdied 17 once and I remember every bit of it!

Yes, I was saying that in jest.  They both made great shots.  That bunker shot on 18 that English made from a plugged lie by the lip was amazing to get the ball as close as he did to save par.

Hickok made some great par putts.  However, after playing 18 seven times today, I would think that a birdie putt would have come a lot sooner.

Now that I agree with although they were never really in position to attack the pin.

Some playoff. Both made so many crucial putts, but they both seem like they were playing defense vs offense - understandable under the circumstances. It was fun for a couple holes, but I have to admit at about the 7th playoff hole I was ready for it to be over. Thank goodness it didn't go past 8 holes. Great exhibition by both, and Hickok's day should come soon, he handled the pressure extremely well.

i’m not sure why they had them play 18 over and over. it wasn’t set up to be a birdie hole at all.

tucked pin behind a bunker, on a downslope, and they were hitting downhill.

i wonder how many birdies were made on 18 all day. my guess isn’t many.

seems like they stuck with 18 and 17 so that the crowd wasn't running all over the place. 18 had the grandstands and made for better viewing, I suppose.

saw several guys on Twitter calling for them to play 15. Probably would have ended the playoff a lot sooner.

nothing dumber than playing the same hole 6 times in an 8 hole playoff.

Poor Kramer barely lipped out 2 winning putts. Man that's gotta sting.

I get playing holes based on where fans were already. Maybe they can cap holes in the future? Play a playoff hole 2-3 times max. 18, 18, 17, 17, etc. Add some variety. Change the tees? Really any variety would have been nice.

i started a thread wondering how they determine playoff holes.

my guess as to why they only played 17 and 18 was exactly what you said.

15th green is right behind 18th Tee box and that would have been quite a show.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. No one expects a playoff to go 8 holes, no one should? What they had planned would have normally been just fine…
