Early on in this thread I posted a solution for SS counterbalanced grips. I snapped off most of the screw on the putter sensor leaving just a slight nub - which sets inside the weight, then used contact cement to glue the sensor to the weight. Going on my second season and it has never come off. Note: I play about 150+ rounds a year. Never had a problem with the other sensors on both my MCC+4 grips as well as the GP CPX ones.

that’s definitely a solution. if I still had the superstroke i would do it immediately. but as it turns out, I threw a gravity grip on to experiment, and for whatever reason i’m putting better than I ever have, so it’s staying.

so as someone looking to carve out, and survive, more time to golf myself, what is your schedule for those 150 rounds? just curious about the times you like to go and how much time you give yourself to recover and if you have any tips to reduce overuse injuries. I realize this is off topic and may need to go to another thread.

Yup we probably shouldn't hijack this thread so I'll create a new one.

Was just looking over my Shot Scope data and one thing I really wish they would add is a trendline. I love being able to see a chart with all my strokes gained metrics and compare it to various handicaps (comparing against 5 handicap here), but unless I see consistent movement up or down it's sometimes difficult to know if I'm going in the right direction.

SS-SG.png.558bb50b27a2e3decc5e99d3cf929640.png

So, me being me, I plugged the raw data into Excel and made some new charts.

Happy to see my game improving in most metrics. The decline in my short game isn't really a surprise either as my last round out was terrible for the first 9 holes. I've also not been taking practice swings before shots around the green which is the one place I've found the most benefit from them as it allows me to focus on low point. I'm ready to get out and see what a little more effort in that area can do!

There was a mention sometime earlier this year, by SS support, of a possible data export feature being put on their future enhancements list. That would be nice!

I think a data export has been one of the most popular requests since shot trackers were first introduced. I know I saw it with both Game Golf and Arccos users. A feature like that would be another HUGE separator for SS.

Does anyone else have trouble syncing following a round. I have a H4, and after each round, I have to try multiple times to connect the unit to my phone so I can sync rounds.  The app will either crash, or the unit won't connect, or it will say connected, but not give me the option to sync rounds.  I am always able to fix it, but it usually involves a sequence of restarting the H4, restarting my phone, and/or restarting the app, sometimes several times.

Although I have always been able to fix the issue, it is getting really tiring to have to go through this at the end of every round.

I had the same problem and Gavin at SS helped me out.

Unpair or forget the H4 from your phone. Uninstall the app.

Reinstall the app, then pair the H4 to your phone again.

It should work properly again. One thing to make sure of is that your phone is not connected to any other Bluetooth device whilst you're trying to download your round, like your car or a speaker.

Hope this helps.

On another note, the new Course Analysis is so good. The shots plotted is a real eye opener too.

The Dashboad on a PC is the best way to see it, but you can access it via the app as well.

Matt, I was advised to sign out before deleting the app - and of course signing back in after reinstall. Not sure if this was specific to iOS or applied to all platforms

Maybe iOS because I was fine not signing out with the light side version.

Is there a way to combine rounds?  I was golfing earlier today, and accidentally pressed the end round on hole 8.  So I ended up starting a new round from 8 onwards, but now I have two separate rounds in my dashboard.

Thanks Paul! So what are you thinking as possible solutions? I've been watching a lot of slow-mo videos of really good irons players - Tiger (back in the day), Jon Rahm, Zalatoris, Keagan, etc... - and trying to pick up some of their motion and then videoing myself to compare and see where my weaknesses and strengths are.

I've learned my take back and initial downswing are good, but need to tweak a few things at moment of impact and my follow-through is atrocious, lol!

My approach misses are historically more often left/right rather than front / back- I tweaked myself into slightly stiffer shafts and have found a considerable improvement in dispersion right/left and hitting far more GIR as a result.  I was always aware that shaft stiffness could reduce dispersion, but I wasn't expecting this much benefit - went from approx 22% GIR to around 38% - my handicap index is mid 11.

Found Nippon Modus Tour 120s in Stiff to be the sweet spot for me - they feel like a baby stiff flex to me.

Hi Fellow Canuck - I usually do some basic editing in my car before I leave so as not to forgot some of the sordid details 🙂  I didn't;t realize it until recently, but if I have my car running and my iPhone is connected to apple play, I cannot seem to get my V3 (or my temporary H4) to connect to my phone,  But, if I power down the car or disconnect from apple car play, no issues whatsoever.  Bluetooth fight going on?  Maybe ....

Hi All - I have been a Shotscope guy for a few years-  was also on Arccos but finally gave up on it despite the (then) superior data presentation.

V3 has been AWESOME as an experience with only a few minor quibbles (including temporary H4) and some comments:

1) for true flat top grips, the sensors will not move and can even be difficult to remove, but form any rounded grips, I have seen them to be less stable.  Lost my first sensor over the past 2-3 days while using Golf Pride CP2 PRO grips with the lightly rounded butt.  I've seen the electrical tape thing, but shrink wrap might be an ever better approach.

2) I will try the non automatic putting soon - I have lived with putting adjustments, but wondering if that really cleans up the data fixes for me as much as some have commented in this thread

3) I sometimes struggle to understand HOW to use the data - Strokes gained helped me be more focused, but I feel like there are gold nuggets in there for me that I cannot easily use

4) Arccos has really solved for the putter grip sensor issue with their specific superstroke fitting thing - simple and elegant - luckily I don't use that grip type anymore but when I did it was very good and maybe something SS could look into.  That said, I am seeing fewer and fewer superstroke type grips around in my travels

5) I like the V3 watch but was wondering about the H4 - so bought one from amazon as a test.  As I had the Arccos Link, I had already contemplated things like jackets, clips etc.  I went to the level of adding a carabiner thingy since ly link fell off one day and I had to use "find my link" feature - look like a complete fool (easy for me) walking backwards on the golf course.  Sadly the H4, and the magnet made me nervous and I did find it got dislodged more than once per round.  Folks here said they kept It in there pocket - I thought it needed to have satellite "visibility" to function and this set of comments made me wonder.

6) H4 was a disaster for me in terms of tapping - I just could not find a way to easily inject it into my pre shot routine.  I have questionable concentration at the best of times, but this experience showed me my grooved pre shot routine was impenetrable by the H4, sadly.  That said, as above, I will try the manual putting option to see if that tightens up my putting data and reduces edits

7) as often mentioned, SS has superb customer support - it is truly an experience that I wish I could get from other companies

8 Has anyone found the end of the battery life for the V3?  And I mean, won't charge anymore, need new watch etc?

9) Love the evolution of the data, notwithstanding I don't fully get how to best use it all - the PDFs etc are helpful, but .....

10) When I order tags, watchbands, extra charger cables they arrive FAST to me here in Canada - they must have a local depot or something - crazy fast

11) love the fact you can have as many clubs/tags as you wish - I love trying different clubs and have been able to use the tags to help with product selection, in playing circumstance.  What I don't understands is the relationship of the tags to the app data.  I know that I can set up "my bag".  So my driver is my PxG Proto 9.5 wth a D Tag.  I also have a Callaway Maverick Sub Zero, also with a D Tag.  I have seen references to the tag having a specific ID which is mapped during shot capture, but it seems like it might be more simple, like, if you ma a D tag in "your bag", and if a D Tag is found in a shot, then it uses the "my bag" mapping versus any thing like a tag technical ID, for example.  Does anyone know?  I know it might not matter, but t seems like if the specific TAG ID was captured, you would not need to "set up" your bag, meaning the tag IDs could do that themselves through data.  Does this make any sense?

12) Wanted to love the H4, could not.  I guess for just non-putts, if I remembered to tap often enough, it would be good.  But for putting, it seemed very strange to have to carry this H4 around for tapping etc.  Maybe someone could share their process flow of how they truly use an H4 successfully

Lastly, this thread and the comments in it, have been fun and informative to read.  And its nice the SS is participating - thank you Gavin.  Thank you all for the entertainment in this shot tracking journey

Hmmmm you and Gavin must be 'mates'. Any word on an export feature? I'd love to drop my 2022 rounds into a spreadsheet for more detailed tracking and graphing.

He seems to drop updates elsewhere...no idea mate.

I have my H4 on my belt so it is always with me.  When I walk up to my ball I tap the putter and mark the location.   When I am reaching into the hole to get the ball I take it off the belt and tap the number of putts to capture pin location.  I find the putting to be easier than remembering to tag other shots.

Yes you can use multiple, eg. "D", tags and the device will capture the shots for each, but ...

No, currently there is no specific user tag available for you to enter / id which is which - the only difference is the color on screen, eg. one "D" appears as say blue and one "D" appears as black - so you just have to keep a separate note.

Thanks @cksurfdude, I do understand that the bagged clubs have a colour code identity.  But as a clarification, do you know if the colour code mapping is then related to a specific technical tag id?  So, making up a scenario, I add a shiny new Driver to my bag with a new SS D sensor.  For kids and giggles, lets say this new sensor has s technical id of A145.  So I map the new D sensor and I now get a new BLUE colour code scheme for the sensor.  When I hit a beautiful high draw with this brand shiny new club on the first hole, does SS map sensor id A145 to the BLUE D tag that is now in "my bag".  Or does it just, because I've added a new club to "my bag", just say, well I just captured a D tag and since the bag mapping says this is a new shiny club, then that club data is what gets mapped to the new BLUE D in the SS data set on the dashboard?

The reason I ask this is I think I have swapped sensors around (I have too many clubs, and experiment too much) and it seems like regardless of sensor, the data maps to the club that I have mapped in "my bag" versus a particular D club sensor.

Truly a first world problem, but I'm curious

Thanks @cnosil. On Sunday I played and tried to simulate putt tagging as you mention and it seemed to be far more natural in my putting routine versus what I experienced in my tee to green shot routines  - seems strange for it to be a different process feel, but it sounds like it might be smear to what you shared.

When i used Arccos Link previously, I put a lanyard on the thing to keep it attached to me since I had lost/had it fall off a few times.  I had ideas to somehow do something similar with the H4, but the need to constantly have to remove it for accurate putt marking etc seemed to make that sub optimal 🙂 That said, I did get used to the upside down orientation of the H4 on the belt clip and could blindly press the right button "most of the time".  The biggest issue was a chip in with zero putts where I had to take the H4 out of the magnet cradle to find zero - a good problem to have ....

Changed my grips back to Golf Pride Tour Velvet Plus 4 mid sizes yesterday.  For comparison, when I reinstalled the sensors it felt like a surgeon's glove with the Plus 4 Tour velvets (and the total flat end of butt cap) versus like a big fat snow mitten on the rounded end butt cap on the GP CP Pro grips - one was a beautiful fit and one was far sloppier.  Luckily the SS sensors don't dislodge easy but given how hard they are to get back out of the Tour Velvet Plus 4 grips, I'd say that the best end of butt grip style option for theses sensors.

thank you for reinforcing my decision not to get those cp grips. I hadn’t even considered this when I went with a set of gp z-cord, and I lucked out apparently with the sensors fitting perfectly on the grips I actually want.

I'd definitely have to refer you to ShotScope Support on that..!

My *guess* is... IF you just move the tag and do NOT edit the club particulars then the color _may_ stay the same ... else I think if you edit the club then that tag's color in the app/dashboard may change..?
