Anyone having issues with battery life with V3. This happened today: Watch charged to 100% yesterday and turned off. I turned it on when I got to the course, but I noticed that the green battery bar wasn't full (maybe 90%?). By the time I got to 16 I was in the yellow. After 18 I turned it off completely and when I got home and put the charging card on it registered. In the past I'm been able to get 36 holes out of a full charge. Running out of battery life?

 

Edit: The support site indicates I should be able to get 8+ hours. Our round today was about 4 1/2.

In a word, no. I've had mine since the preorders went out and usually have 67% or so battery left after 18.

SS support recommended doing a hard reboot of the watch.

The windows tech support solution .   That was my suggestion for the H4 not finding courses.

It is good that the analysis is there, however, it does not show the course overview like a 'regular' 18 hole round does, which would be better.  I'm guessing many of you play in a 9 hole league like I do.  Since I play all over the region on weekends, those league rounds are by far the most often played holes.  It would be nice if the analysis was the full overview as well.  As it is, you have to go hole by hole only, and is a bit tedious.

I imagine I could email SS and ask them to combine the rounds as I've seen that mentioned previously, but one could imagine the software would do that automatically, or have it as an option.  Perhaps down the road??????

On another note, chalk up another positive note about their support.  My watch recently started missing many, many shots, and then stopped picking up the clubs at all.  After a few emails and some minimal testing out at their request, they are sending me out a new watch band that I should have within a week.

Hit one of those by accident with my knee while sitting with a friend at his trading desk at work, many (many years) ago... Boy did I screw him up for however many (loooooong) minutes it took the frickin thing to restart, then load the OS, then launch the trading app .. then start receiving data .. and *finally* updated his charts......

Hold down the top left button for about 10 seconds and it will do a reset.

*Switch watch on
*Unlock watch
*Hold the top left button down for 15-20 seconds until the screen goes blank. Make sure not to press any buttons during this process.

Update:

1. Maybe I found the culprit -  me. Yesterday I went to charge the V3 in anticipation of playing today. When I first put on the charging clip, The V3 logo came up - then I slightly jiggled the clip and the percentage charge came up. So perhaps in the past the clip wasn't seated properly and therefore didn't charge to 100%? I've commented in a previous thread about the need to make sure the clip is secure - but I assumed that if the logo came up it was seated correctly.

2. The hard reboot did it? Regardless when I went to charge it after 18 today I had 58% remaining and that was after 4 1/2 hr round.

So i am looking over my SG data. Does shot scope estimate 18 hole rounds for SG analysis even if it was only nine holes? Take today, my SG analysis said i had 38 putts, but i only played nine holes and was at 19 putts.

I noticed that my last post about SG trends actually only showed the previous 10 rounds so I made a few updates...

For starters, I made sure to add data points for ALL rounds, but then I threw in some conditional formatting so I could highlight the best and worst performance of each category.

I don't know if it's useful to anyone else, but I would love to see a dashboard like this in the app or online portal.

Another thing I looked at was the first 7 rounds vs. the last 7 rounds. It really opened my eyes as to why my handicap has been dropping and what I need to do to continue on that path. Namely, I've improved Tee Shots and Approaches by 2.55 and 2.06 strokes respectively. Meanwhile, my Short Game and Putting have worsened by 0.96 and 0.43.

I really hope the rumors about a data export are true because I love diving into these numbers!

Soooooo.... since I asked about doing a reboot on the device, I must've jinxed myself as I've had to do it *twice* recently .. when I didn't have that problem at all previously .. in order to be able to sync a round... 

So I went into the app and Device Settings and saw a firmware update was available; just applied it - went from version 99.99.99 to 2.4.6

So V3 users check if your watch also needs this update.

Glad you mentioned that, I just checked and I'm running 2.4.0

I wish SS would push an email every time they have a dashboard/App/watch update.

Interested to see if anyone else has the same issue as me. Finished my round this morning, synced to my phone, and then saw that there was a firmware update. Waited until I got home and then ran the firmware update (took about 10 minutes). However, I got a 'firmware update failed' message and now my watch is totally bricked. I can press/hold to turn off, but as soon as I turn it back on, it's just stuck on the V3 boot screen. Power-cycled it several times and tried plugging in to my laptop as well (just to see if it was a recognized peripheral. Spoiler: it wasn't.)

Email send to SS support, expecting an answer back by the time I wake up in the morning

After my round yesterday my watch automatically updated the new firmware - no issues.

I couldn't get to the 'unlock watch' step. It was stuck on the V3 boot screen. For. ev. er.

BUT! I was correct and SS support's response was waiting for me this morning. Here's what they tried and, spoiler, it worked perfectly.

To revert the firmware on the watch to the original 'golden firmware' please follow the instructions below:
 
1. Make sure the watch is turned off. If you cannot turn the watch off normally then please hold the top left button down for 15-20 seconds.
2. With the screen off, hold down the bottom left and right buttons.
3. Whilst still holding down those buttons, press the top left button once and then release. A V3 logo should appear on the screen. If this does not appear then start from the beginning.
4. Continue to hold down these two bottom buttons for 40 seconds. This should reset the firmware.
5. After this is done, connect the watch to the mobile app and update the firmware/go through on boarding. It is very important to do this straight after the reset.
 
If this process does not fully work the first time, please try a few more times. This can sometimes take a few tries.

In preparation of a golf buddies trip, I made sure the courses we are playing is on my watch. I found a firmware update was available, so I went ahead and updated the firmware with no problems.  Does anyone know if shotscope publishes what an update is addressing, and if so where would I find it?

I hope they are on your watch.   Read posts on the Shot Scope facebook group (and I had the same issue with the H4) that even though the course shows as being on the device it might not be.   From what support told me is that the device shows that the course is loaded but it really isn't.   If you get to the course and experience this, the only way to get it on your device is to contact support.

They usually do but didn't for this one, which is strange.

OH, and make sure you're subscribed to the course. Just being on the watch doesn't mean you can just turn it on and go.

I haven’t had to subscribe to the course to get it to work on the H4.  Subscribing is recommended to show you when a course has been updated.   Being on the watch should mean turn it on and go.

Got an email last week to get 20% off from Shotscope accessories. As I got my V3 the first week it was available(Feb 2020), I decided to get all new tags and a new watch band.  Well, they arrived yesterday so I started to remove the watch and. Got 3 screws out before I ran into probs. The 4th screw would not come out. I have a handful of screwdrivers that are about the same size so I tried them, but no luck.

I contacted support who suggested I try other screwdrivers…..already did that. They then offered to replace the watch for $100 as my watch is old…..2 1/2 years.

what do you think? Worth trading in, or should I put the old band back on. Granted, the reason I wanted to replace the tags and band is I don’t get good contact during the round and have to add shots that did not get picked up. Yesterday I had to add 2 holes that didn’t record.

let me know your thoughts.

I was in V2 mode this morning.

@fozcycle for $100 I'd get a new one.
