Finally joined the SS revolution and have real data on my game! Love this device and what it has done for me.

I sure thought my chipping was the weakest part of my game, but after 4rds logged I noticed that it’s really my iron/approach play that is my greatest weakness…which then leads to an excessive amount of chips, haha. Thankfully i start and finish each hole fairly strong , so looks like some lessons and range time to reconfigure my irons is in order!

Welcome aboard!  I am very new to ShotScope as well, and played my 4th round yesterday.  Like you, I find the my approach shots are the bane of my existence, and what I need to work on the most.

Thanks Paul! So what are you thinking as possible solutions? I've been watching a lot of slow-mo videos of really good irons players - Tiger (back in the day), Jon Rahm, Zalatoris, Keagan, etc... - and trying to pick up some of their motion and then videoing myself to compare and see where my weaknesses and strengths are.

I've learned my take back and initial downswing are good, but need to tweak a few things at moment of impact and my follow-through is atrocious, lol!

For myself, I will be booking some lessons, concentrating on my approach irons.  She, my pro, has helped me with my driver and wedge play, so now I will see her again for approach play

Have you dug into to any of the stats on approaches?   I only have a few rounds and I am only hitting the green 33% of the time with my PW on 12 shots.  Other clubs are significantly better.  Looking at my distances for that club my average is 122 with a p average of 148.   Basically I have no idea how far this club goes and it is causing scoring issues in an area that I need to hit greens.

Anything in the left or right sections are in the rough. If you hover your mouse on any of the "balls" it'll give you length, dispersion and club used for that shot.

For our course in Florida on Par 3's they would have to re-mark rough as left water and right water.

I definitely agree,  but I am noticing that the club that was my 130 club isn't my 130 club anymore.   My ball striking has improved from my lessons and I am getting a tad more distance out of my clubs.   The courses I play put me in that distance a few times a round.

Same…my biggest fail is collecting pins!

Yep...I usually realize it when I am back at the cart after leaving the green.  I at least can enter the number of putts at that point but I never run back to the green to stand next to the pin to get its location.  My editing sessions have all included the putting data on at least 15 holes!  🥴

I asked Shotscope support about this yardage info and although the dispersion yardage is not collected for averaging purposes you can see the data for individual shots if you hover your cursor over the tee shot dot to see how far off line it is.

That was pointed out in one of the responses.  Doesn’t give dispersion for tough shots; just how far you missed the fairway.

I had missed seeing that response and didn't know that data was even available.  I am going to start a spreadsheet and manually enter the data for a while to average the right and left misses. I don't expect to do that long term just when changing shafts or drivers to track the impact.

I also suggested to them in a reply email that would be a nice feature to add to a future release.  Having done software development in my work history I know it is not that hard since the data is already collected.

The information is definitely there, just not presented the way I would want to see.   Telling me I missed a fairway by a yard doesn’t give me insight…was that 20 or 50 yards from the center?  I’ personally don’t care about fairway or rough; I’d really be more interested in how left or right is my widest and does my dispersion favor left or right of center.

For me getting yardage from the center of the fairway isn't completely meaningful for all tee shots.  There are plenty of holes I do not aim down the middle.  I can hit the perfect drive right at my exact target and be in the left rough or right rough depending on the hole.  I know that is where I will end up but being in the rough on those holes is no penalty because it is so thin as opposed to the other side of the fairway where there are trees and traps and then traps to go over on the approach.

By entering the data manually I can skip those entries so the averages are more representative of my tendencies which is what I am after.  I only have 6 rounds entered but I can see I am in the left rough more than twice as much as right rough.  I need to review those data points to see which were intentional and then take those out of the mix.

Agree, so many things not part of the data,  like as you mentioned the target you want to hit.   Even with the few rounds and my understanding of a lot of The information it is very difficult to actually present and analyze the data.  Shot tracking is great but it isn’t an easy answer to how to fix your game.

As I have previously mentioned, I recently dropped Arccos and switched to Shot Scope.  I have four rounds in with my new V3, and I have absolutely no regrets.  It has functioned flawlessly.  It has detected every shot and uploaded flawlessly. I am starting to analyze my data, and am learning what exactly I need to work on next.  I am very happy that there is no annual subscription cost too.  One thing I do miss from Arccos is the GPS on my phone, but that is a small price to pay for the benefit I receive.  I can recommend Shot Scope without reservation.

About a week ago - while playing the 12th hole I noticed the watch battery indictor went yellow. WTH, I charged it the night before. Today I put on the charging clip and noticed no battery indicator that you typically get when charging wasn't there. Operator error - so obviously my error last week -  I didn't put on the clip properly. So now from now on whenever I put on the charging cable I will make sure that I get the battery level indicator.

Same thing happened to me as well. Plugged it in hours before a a round, but didn't check it properly and barely made it through the round before it died. I double check it to make sure I have the little charging icon before walking away!

Yeah the clip has to be "just so" .. interesting design .. but it is an improvement over the V1 clip....

Just be careful of the clip. If you've seen the testers, it can come off pretty easy.

I seem to recall a feature (either dashboard or app) where I could see aggregate hole performance on a specific course. In other words how well I play #1 at XYZ course. Was I dreaming or senility creeping in and I can't find it??

It's there. When looking at the round overview, you should be able to see "My Course Statistics" at the bottom of the page.

Note: this feature is currently only available in the app as far as I'm aware.

It's also only available if you play 18 holes.  I usually play front nine one day and back nine the next time out, and none of those give me the option or are included in the course stats.

Found it - thx. Too bad it's set for the 'last 10 holes' vs the other categories in Performance such as 1.5,10,15. If we had the other categories available we could see progress (or lack of).

What do you see when you select your 9 hole round?  Did they combine the 9 hole rounds into 18 holes?
