MGS Putt Out

I received my Putt Out today from MGS…..

 

Now if I can just figure out how to use it……any suggestions from Putt Out owners?

I only have the Putt Out target.  The perfect putt at the perfect speed will actually come to rest in the hole/cutout on the upslope.  Good luck with that.  I've done it a couple of times, but I'm happy just finding the target frequently and less concerned with getting it to stop in the hole.  I keep it in my bag and pull it out on the practice putting range when I want to practice.  I wish I had bought the mirror, as I often allow my eyes to get too far out and have to consciously keep myself in check.

I was apart of the first ever test of these. The mirror changed a lot since then the cut out is for the ball obviously, you can have the ramp with the hole open or closed. If you have it open your goal is to try to get the ball to stop there hence the perfect putt.

I'm one of the testers so have come up with several routines that I'll be using. 

The PuttOUT on it's own is a really addictive training aid and one of my tests is to get the perfect putt from varying distances, not stopping until I get one. Get it, move further away..

What I have found is that the alignment stick set is really useful, combining the gates with the sticks you can really narrow down your aim.

I did my 1st 'test' on Monday night and had a quick 12 holes last night and, already, I can feel a bit more confidence in my stroke. Might not be holing 20 footers yet but that's more down to reading the greens well - we've got some seriously hard greens here!!

Can't wait to get my MGS one in! Not sure how long the international shipping will take but excited to get it and hoping to get my putting mat setup later this week too.

Looks great though and glad I pulled the trigger on getting one.

I picked up this one on amazon for $15. Good reviews and has been good for me.

Is the Walmart version different from the MGS version, other than the color and insignias?

If you are referring to the puttout, they are the same.

Set it up at 3 feet, with mirror.  Can’t get ball to stay in cup, but can get it to hang for a split second.

Just checking, but you did push the pice with the logo down so it isn’t filling the small hole.

You described it much better than I did in my post. Picture 1 ball will not stay in place it will roll back, according to what we were told in the first year review the distance it rolls back is supposed to signify how far beyond you’d roll the ball.

picture 2 the perfect putt hole is open and if you get it to stay there it is the perfect speed putt.

My longest perfect putt so far is 7'.  I putted with it the first day from 2' until I made one, it took about a dozen putts.  Now I vary the distance and it seems to have really helped.  Yesterday I used 26 putts, they weren't all because of chipping either, I used about 92 feet total on all of my putts that I holed.   I hope this wasn't a one off and I can sustain some of this quality putting but the course I played is notorious for it's relatively flat greens and very little break.

I've got a few that I'm using for my test/review but I use the alignment stick set with gates.

1: Just a simple putt from 2, 4, 6 & 8 feet

2: Same distances but using an alignment sick. Putt through a gate 1' in front of the ball.

3: Same distances again but using an alignment stick to keep the putter path correct

 

I also use a single gate 2' in front of the ball to give smaller target to aim at.

5 putts at each distance, 1 point for a made putt & 3 for a perfect putt. 

Then a single putt to each of the hole markers on the mat followed by the dreaded 'perfect putt' test. 1, 3, 5 & 7' keep going until you get a PP at each distance.

Frustrating is one word for it..ha   After starting and failing miserably with some 10 footers, then 5 feet, I moved it up to about 2 feet just to have success.  Which I finally did..
