TBT
What’s a good inexpensive swing speed radar distance measuring device? I have been wanting a cheap launch monitor type device to help dial in distances but I want clubhead speed measurements too, especially for my upcoming Honma Driver testing. tony@CIC 1 Quote XR Driver Matrix Ozik 8m3 Black Tie Shaft King F7 3W UST Mamiya Chrome Elements 7F4 Shaft King F7 5W UST Mamiya Chrome Elements 7F4 Shaft King F7 4 Hybrid Graphite Designs Tour AD-HY 95 Shaft PXG 0211 DC 5-PW Mitsubishi MMT 80 Shafts RTX ZIPCORE 50*,54*,58* UST Mamiya Recoil 95 Shafts Metal X Milled #7 with SuperStroke 2.0 grip MTB Twitter: @timldotson Instagram: timldotson Facebook: TimDotson
ejgaudette
I use the PRGR Black for super speed training as it will read without a ball. It's a couple hundred and just give club and ball speed then based on those calculate carry and roll for the club you select. Is you launch and skin things close to whatever they use as number to come up with, 160 ball speed equals 270 and 290 total is fine, but your band slices excess skin and launch will not be accounted for, as I have thoroughly tested. Of course rapsodo is 500 new and less second hand and so is the Mevo. More accurate and if you catch a deal only a couple hundred more which is probably worth it if it's in the budget. tony@CIC and TBT 2 Quote Epic Max LS 9° Ventus Blue 6X (2021 Official Review) | Epic Speed 18° Evenflow Riptide 70g 6.0 816 H1 21° Diamana S+ Blue 70 S | SMS 4-5/SMS Pro 6-PW Steelfiber i95 S (2023 Official Review) Glide 4.0 50°.12°S/54°.14°W/58°.6°T PING Z-Z115 Wedge Flex | SOFT 11S Super Stroke Mid-Slim 2.0 Hoofer Bag | Pro V1 | Right Handed | Tracked by V3
revkev
I use the swing speed radar by Sports Sensors Inc. It's the cheapest one out there - it only registers Swing Speed but it is easy to set up and pretty accurate. You're looking at around $100. I also have a Rapsodo but that is a launch monitor, it requires hitting shots to register SS. PRGR will do both but it sounded like its pretty persnickity when I was reading the SuperSpeed reviews. It's also $200. I hope that info helps. tony@CIC and TBT 2 Quote Taylor Made Stealth 2 10.5 Diamana S plus 60 Aldila R flex - 42.25 inches SMT 4 wood bassara R flex, four wood head, 3 wood shaft Ping G410 7, 9 wood Alta 65 R flex Srixon ZX5 MK II 5-GW - UST recoil Dart 65 R flex India 52,56 (60 pending) UST recoil 75's R flex Evon roll ER 5 32 inches It's our offseason so auditioning candidates - looking for that right mix of low spin long, more spin around the greens - TBD

I have never used it indoors - I live in Florida. My guess is that it wouldn’t be the best indoor device though. There is a MGS review of it in the blog and I’m sure that’s covered there. Sorry that I can’t help on that one. TheProfessor
I’ve been looking at the PRGR as I want to start speed training. I’d like to have spin but you need to pay more for that. The data it provides is supposed to be very accurate. DukeStKing
I have a Garmin G80 and have found it to be very accurate. I even compared its numbers to a $16k simulator a friend has in his basement. The best part is, it’s a GPS as well.
