Sad day today….

One of my brothers had been dealing with severe depression and anxiety for a few years now, and he had gone to two treatment facilities recently to try and get some help. We thought he was going to turn the corner, but it got to be too much for him, so he took his own life today. 
Doctors and therapists tried everything, and nothing was working. Meds never got him even-keeled, and anxiety had taken over. Please, look after those who fall into depression and get them help as soon as possible. Growing-up, he was my hero. He leaves behind a special needs daughter and his wife. If you’re the prayerful type, please say a prayer for his soul, and one for his wife and daughter.

So very sad, a truly awful disease that afflicts so many people. Look after yourself and those close to you.

I would like to echo your thoughts on trying to help those suffering into early treatment. Ask if you think someone isn't ok, and try to direct them to a professional for help if you can.

Depression is a real thing!  I just wish it was easier to detect early so people can step in to help.  Again, I'm so sorry.  This is tragic news

I suffer from a form of PTSD from being bullied as a kid. It hurts. It's frustrating and it's downright mean when it gets its claws into you.

I must have missed this on Monday.  So sad to hear about your brother.  Prayers going out to your whole family for your loss.

It's tough to deal with.  My wife was on the phone constantly several years ago with one of her nieces.  It didn't help though; she eventually committed suicide.  The family raised money and invested it so her kids would be able to go to college.
