Interesting Q&A from Golf Pride re: Grips

This may have been posted previously; I just read the article, and although it's all about Golf Pride grips, some of the answers to the questions do carry across all grip brands.

I just read the emailed article from them. Not much content there that I didn't know - but then, I've been installing my own GP grips for a few years. The only 'thing' that I wondered about was their comment about +4's and the benefit of using them over several layers of tape. Their response focused more on stretching of the grip vs what I think is an easier install since it eliminates having to put the additional layers of tape on. FYI, I only use +4's.

Another thing I found interesting was the idea of stretching the grip over the extra tape making the lower part of the grip firmer.  Hadn't ever considered that before.

I have been moving to plus 4's as well as the align grips on all my irons.  When I was fitted for my wedges I also had them installed.  Some people I play with don't care for them on wedges because of the feel when you open the face.  I really like that feel.  To each his own.

Interesting read.  I recently replaced my tour velvet with extra wraps on the low hand with MCC +4 grips.  Really prefer the +4 approach over building up with tape.  Easier to install overall and the feel is superior (for me).

I have mine replaced at a shop where I purchase all my equipment and get fit.  Have known the owner for thirty years.  No mistakes and a lot less hassle.

I just regripped my hybrid with what might become my new go to… a Tour Velvet Plus 4.

I never liked the cord portion of the plus 4, but liked the idea behind the grip itself. Now I have the “plus 4 tech” and my preferred Tour Velvet feel.

They are $3-4 cheaper than the regular plus 4 also… $1 more than the standard tour velvet.
