Just for fun. I don't carry this club anymore, but I do play the 3-E. Waiting on a set of TaylorMade P7MBs I just ordered, which are comparatively shockingly forgiving.

That thing is what nightmares are made of.... And memories.  Still remember my old mcgregor starter irons that looked very similar... My hands are in pain just thinking of it.

Looking at these give me even more respect for the caliber of tour players who used them.

The PC, for percussion center, was said to have a so-called sweet spot the diameter of a pencil eraser but not quite as close to heel and more toward the center than most blades.

Of all the popular pure blade types available at the time, the PC had the reputation of being the very least forgiving.

In 1984, the more forgiving cavity back irons were just about all stainless steel.

At the same time that the PC was out, however, Hogan offered the "Edge," I believe it was called.

That, curiously, was one of the very first cavity back forged clubs, and the idea exploded from there.

I believe MacGregor were the next ones to jump on the bandwagon, but those early forged cavity backs were still one-piece heads, not like what we have now.

Yep those old Hogan Edge irons were 1 piece forged and harsh--- In fact I had a set of PCs like yours and they hit better than the Edge did for me but yes the sweet spot was about the size of a pencil eraser. In fact I gave the 1 iron to a young Pro friend of mine who is a great ball striker and he carries it and hits it now has had it about 5 years now--- He can smoke that thing
