I LOVE the idea of this and the data it provides but it misses nearly all my chips/short shots just off green.

That would be workable but when I know it missed a shot I try to go back to the hole and the app instantly goes to the next hole making it impossible to correct the score.

The other annoyance is every swing the sensor nearly slides out of the end of the grip.

Any suggestions tips or alternatives to Arrcos that I should try?

Since you asked.......Shotscope V3. The watch and sensors are just a few $$ more than an annual ARRCOS subscription and there are hardly any lost shots and the sensors stay intact. .AND superior customer service.

Would be nice, however I am going to say that my love for arccos has been dwindling. I just haven't had the success with it as previously and the difference between apple and android is so vast it makes it really hard to want or recommend when using android.

I've thought about using Arccos but another cost when the amount of golf I play I'm not sure I need it, I don't use my launch monitor any more either..

I'm fortunate that when I bought sensors it was on the old way so no subscription and therefore now it is free so to speak.

What's "on the old way" I've got one sensor that was attached to a club I bought, does that mean I could use it for free?

When I bought the sensors you would pay something like $300 for the set and you got full access to the dashboard, caddie and everything included. There was no membership per year or x amount per month subscription model. It was simple, pay you get your account and you are good to go!

Now it is much different and I will be honest looking at the website, not the most simple to find. However here are a few quick screenshots.

Screenshot 2023-01-22 11.47.34.png

So you can see even when buying the product you only get a year of membership.

The sensors themselves are pretty cheap and depending on the clubs you have there are times where you can register your clubs and get free sensors for creating an account and I believe that is the monthly subscription with 45 days free. However if you want the account to stay open its say $15 a month.

And again, it is almost a must use Apple or IOS system. The android platform is far less engaging and well on course it sucks. Maybe they have updated it, but it is night and day between the two.

Thanks for your feedback, yeah I'm not playing enough anymore to need that much info on distance. Plus I don't have a normal repeatable swing nor will I because the body just can't do it, unless I find a drug that turns back the aging process but not happening lol...

Not a problem!

Arccos certainly has its uses and can be great. Just need to know what you're committing to.

I’ve gone between SC and Arccos (buying/selling two SCs in the process). I’ve stuck with Arccos, since I’m grandfathered.

Arccos still has problems with recording, but they aren’t as glitchy for me now.

There are many things I prefer about SC (better/cheaper sensors, hazard location notation and less glitchy). I like the Arccos dashboard and features. Hopefully SC has improved that.

Both have great Customer Service, at least in my experience. Very responsive and professional. The Arccos CS portal can be a PITA, but when you finally get someone, they’re fine.

I think about going back to SC periodically, but have spent a lot on this process already. The biggest thing is that I have an Apple Watch, that’s linked  to my doctor, and I don’t want to look like a watch hawker or nerd.

The folks who’ve been around since Arccos 1 (like me) were “grandfathered” for a free subscription. I traded in my original ones for a great price toward the newer version, when they introduced them and started the paid subscription program.

I've tried Arccos several times with Cobra & Ping and it doesn't work! Waste of money. Where I fit it was also sold and I discouraged the sale to customers. I spoke to Arccos at a PGA show and they admitted issues. Save your money.

I didn’t understand your response. What didn’t work? My Arccos may miss a couple of shots, but the analytics post round help identify needs improvement areas. Once my free subscription ends, I’ll review my options.

Sensors didn't work, aftermarket sensors fell off the grips, many android phones not compatible (which they don't tell you)...just a waste of money! You know distance and direction of your sots by just looking at them and measuring easily on the course.

@HDTVMAN There are better fits for your situation than Arccos. I have the Smart Grips and use Apple products which improves user experience. My game has improved using the data, but my areas for improvement are consistent with other 5 handicaps. I don't know if I will renew since I know my weak areas to improve,
