Tony@CIC, funny you mention ordering the Shotscope V3.  I have been playing with it for a little over a year and the only real issue I have (not that it is "small") is accuracy.  Once I got used to remembering to set up a provisional shot or add a penalty things went pretty smoothly.  But I seem to always have to edit locations, ESPECIALLY pin locations; for me this was more frustrating than just seeing the fairway and approach shots off location.  Anyway, chose Shotscope because it meant I didn't have to carry my phone in my pocket and it seemed more...seemless.  I recently got an offer to get all of the Arccos for free because I own a Ping club so I paid for the Shot Link in hopes the accuracy will be better.  Reading this thread I am skeptical. Reading your note, I hope you like the Shotscope.  I'd be interested to hear your comparison.

Cheers,
Scott

Scott, I've got over 40 rounds with it and love the V3. It took a little bit of time getting use to the sync and edit mode but now I find it easy to use. It picks up virtually all of my shots including putts in auto mode. So I'm definitely sticking with it.

As a side note - my wife cancelled her subscription 2 months ago with a confirmation from them that it was cancelled. Low and behold a billing came through on my credit card for $99. Thankfully I have a text message whenever my cc gets used otherwise I may not have seen it till the next billing cycle.

I notice my V2 loses charge after having been recharged to 100% (looks like ~1%/day).  Do you V3 users notice this?  Not a huge deal when I'm playing frequently, but if it sits for any length of time I now try to remember and top it off.

Something I feared would happen, did happen.  I played last Sunday.  I normally use my Apple Watch for shot tracking, but this time I decided to use the Caddie Link.  Everything seemed to be fine.  When I get back to my car I found the Caddie Link was gong.  Reviewing the round on my phone I see that I lost it after my Drive shot on 18.  I suppose I am not too upset as I normally use my watch, but still.  I will not be replacing it.

I am looking forward to hearing of what you think, what the differences are, and which you prefer.  I am a tester for the Arccos, and I am not real happy with it.  In my mind there is way too much 'fussing' with it to make it work right.

Currently I have not been able to get the Apple Watch app to work again, it will not pair with a new round.  Other than that, Arccos picks up most shots.  My sensors ar3 4 years old and still work.

So, my Garmin 80 will now track shots like the Arcoss - no sensors, you just have to measure shot from wherever you hit and the app will keep the data. My free Arcoss subscription ended and now there definitely no reason to renew. The G80 is a very accurate launch monitor beside a GPS and now it tracks your shots- a nice triple whammy.

A little late now, but I would recommend anyone with a link remove the clip and drill a small hole in it and then pick up a small lanyard off Amazon.  They're about $6 for a 5 pack and this has saved my link twice so far since January...

Thank you.  I am still considering if I want to replace it. If I do, I will most certainly do what you recommend.

I said I would not, but I did replace my lost Caddie Link.  Today will be my first round with it.  I followed ChitownM2's advice and attached a lanyard to it.

"1. On not picking up the shots - not sure if it's a communication error between the Link and the phone (fully charged and connected to usb charger) or a sensor issue. Anyway to check?"

I keep my phone in my front (left) pocket.  I have my bluetooth on but not connected to anything.  Wifi off.

I have very few missed shots with full shots.  Most often the misses are putts, which it seems to be pretty bad at.  I keep score on paper, and making the corrections at the end only takes a few minutes.

"2. Sensor issue? If so can you replace the batteries?"

I've never had issues where I thought I needed to troubleshoot, replace, or disassemble a sensor.  I believe the batteries do eventually die and then you're supposed to replace the sensor.  If its faulty I think Arccos may replace it.

"3. Do you find you have to check the info after each shot/hole, etc? She doesn't normally look at her phone until we're done and she's in the car."

I don't touch it during my round.  I have a watch and scope for yardages.  Ill occasionally check how far I hit a shot or ask the caddie for options, but mostly ot stays in my pocket.  It can use up phone battery quickly just doing its tracking stuff

I tried Arccos twice...first on a Cobra driver which came with the sensor, then receiving sensors for all my clubs from Ping. All I can say is that Arccos is a complete waste of money and never, ever worked correctly. Customer service is horrible. Don't waste your money on this junk.

I know it’s rather non-scientific but one way to assess customer satisfaction for this product is to look on a site like eBay and see how many are for sale. There are many to be had at very low asking prices.

I was grumbling about missed shots on another group I belong to.  A guy responded that he had the same problem, and to correct it, he took electrical tape and wrapped around the junction of the sensor and club.  He said it greatly reduced his missed shots.  I cannot see how that would make any difference, but I had nothing to loose and had a roll of electrical tape in the basement.  Hoping to play sometime this weekend and see what happens.

OK, I played a round of golf today with the electrical tape on my sensors as I previously posted.  I was stunned at the results: Not one missed shot!   I responded to the guy who told me about this and thanked him and ask him "What is this Magic?'

Paul, That sounds very promising.  Any chance you can take a pic of your tape job, so we can see what you are doing?

Paul, That sounds very promising.  Any chance you can take a pic of your tape job, so we can see what you are doing?

Kasey,

I must admit, I was very surprised that it worked.  Pleasantly surprised, but surprised all the same.  I played last Saturday, the 1st, and was hoping to play again this past weekend, but we had snow!  I am sure you know what that is  LOL

Thanks Paul.  Yup Lots of snow up here and its quite a bit up here!

I am really fascinated that this tape job makes that much difference.

Hope you are able to get out and play again after the snow melts.  Very envious!

I now have 281 rounds and 20.5K shots captured with Arccos despite only using it about half the time I play.

More recently I’ve found the club yardages to be extremely helpful as I’ve changed irons and wedges a few times since using the system and the smart distance and smart range feature is very nice.

I’ve been working on increasing driver distance this past year and the usage statistics are also helpful to see if I’m getting results.

The new golf ball feature will be used to compare a couple golf balls this year as well.
