Sub 70 Putters

I saw the write-up about the Sub 70 milled putters and it looks enticing, especially with the price point and return policy.

With that being said, has anyone gamed the Sub 70 line of putters? If so, what are your thoughts on the quality/durability and playability. The 002 Mid-Mallet is calling my name but I can't find much online about it.

I've had the wide blade for a few months, it is excellent. Quality and durability is excellent, although if you drop it on a cart path..... grrrrr.

I too read the write up on them and it sounded pretty impressive.  Pulled the trigger on the 004 Mallet this morning.

Did I need a new putter, no...but for the price I was willing to try it.  Single Bend, SuperStroke Flat Front grip, 32".  Now the wait , the hard part. 

I also have tried finding outside reviews of this particular model, and can't find much.  Overall, across the entire line, review are very good, so I expect the putter to be there also.

I too read the article and had been looking into buying one. After reading the article I ordered the 002 and the 005 in LH. I plan on running these 2 through quite a few rounds and possibly return 1. I'm gonna use Arccos to track my putting with each. I normally game a blade but purchased a TM Spyder about a yr ago and just dont like it.

I enjoyed the article. I went and looked and the 001 Sycamore has a head weight of 380. That is one hefty putter. I put weights on my spider to get it to 375 and that thing feels like a tank.

I'm running ShotScope, so I'll be doing the same tracking to see if it makes a difference.

I had ordered a Sub 70 004 mallet right before the article came out. Received it yesterday and was able to get a round in with it today. Very good feel and helped my speed control for now. Thanks to Sub 70 as they included a hat and beer coozie to the order. They were very easy to deal with and answered all emails very quickly. Pictures attached

Very nice I ordered mine the day the article came out I believe my payment was just processed on the 3rd I’m hoping that means my putter will be arriving in the next week!!!

I emailed them a few times about mine and was told they are very busy and they make sure all is good before sending. I ordered late in the evening on 7/19 and received on 8/5 which is about the time they told me to expect it. Which model did you order and I'm sure you will like it. I had another good day putting today, will have to see if the new wears off.

I actually ordered 2 because I was not sure which I wanted. I ordered the 002 mid mallet and the 005 wide blade.

Very Cool!  Awesome that you got some extras.  I ordered my 004 on 7/29 and it's still "processing", keep checking 3-4 times a day to see if that changes, altho the disclaimer was 2-3 weeks. LOL  

Did you purposely request the double-bend hosel, or just take it as default?  My current putter only has the single bend, so since I'm used to that, that's what I chose.  

Did you adjust the weighting, or did it seem to be good at factory settings?

Pulled the trigger on the lefty 002 Sycamore. I love the shape and with the return policy, it's a no-brainer. Ordered it with custom specs and the Super Stroke Flatso 1.0. Let the waiting game begin.

Just got word my putters have shipped!! cant wait to put them in play this weekend along with my new driver as part of the Dollar Driver Club testing.

I requested the double-bend hosel on recommendation from one of their guys. So far I have left the 15 gram weights in it which is the factory setting. Will probably start experimenting with the other weights as time goes on. Let me know how you like yours after receiving and getting it out on the course

Well, you got me thinking about the double bend and them recommending it, so I called to inquire.  They explained it's a toe-hang vs. face-balanced thing (I'm sure most of you know that, I didn't).  Since I am currently playing a toe-hang mallet (single bend), he said to leave it as is (especially since it's packaged and shipping out today!!  YAY).  He said if I don't like it, or want to try FB, then send it back within the 60-day term and they'll swap it out.  

The customer service here is excellent, been very pleased the couple times I've called in.  

Can't wait to get my putter, should show up early next week.

Well I put the 002 Mid Mallet into play today and it was nice to me!! First couple of holes were kinda rough the Course is currently without a practice green so took a couple of holes to figure it out.

Got a notification email about an hour ago that it's (004 Mallet) shipping today.  I should see it by Friday at the latest!

WOW, Go Sub70, UPS 2-Day.  Rethinking my day for tomorrow now, might be taking a couple hours at the putting green.

Have you had a chance to try the new putter. Wondering how you like it. I'm loving mine right now, last weekend every putt ended up near the hole if it didn't go in.

I've had my TAIII wide blade for a few weeks now.  Great putter.  What it HAS exposed is my green reading.  I can start the ball on line easier with this putter than any I have used.....missed putts are more often misreads than mis-hits.  Also, I really like that the weight kit is included....you can really dial in the speed control/feel.

The TAIII has no alignment line....just a dot.  I find that far less distracting.

Great magnetic head cover also.....

As always with my Sub70....only complaint is I waited too long to pull the trigger on the purchase.
