Wow.  That set looks awesome.  I love the background of wine / liquor and books too.

How does Titleist deliver so quickly in Australia but are logging huge delays in North America!  Sounds like they need to spread their inventory globally in a more efficient manner.  The wait times in Canada appear to be pretty long.

Or we can move to Australia, which doesn't sound that bad to me...

Titleist have always been good here, at least in my experience. I've never waited more than a couple of weeks for any of their clubs (it's usually a 7-10 day turnaround). There are occasional issues with Footjoy gear, but that might just be at my club. I think it might have helped that I didn't order a "stock" set but didn't go too far off-piste, either - the KBS Tour shafts are pretty widely available here and the MCC Plus4 grips I specced seem to be readily available here, too. But maybe I just got lucky - there was an outbreak of "the situation" in two other states so their fitting sessions would have been cancelled around the same time I ordered. It's a mystery! I waited months for a Callaway wedge earlier this year, for whatever reason. So who knows.

The quarantini shelf lives in my office - it's full of booze that hasn't or won't make it into the cellar, or wine that I've pulled from the cellar for whatever reason but which hasn't yet gone down the hatch. The books are mostly cooking and wine related (I have half a winemaking degree but run a geoscience business - go figure), with some records and other bits and pieces. It makes for a fun work space 😄

You're more than welcome to head on over. Year round golf, some of the best courses in the world at really affordable prices. The food is great and the wine is one of our best kept secrets. I've lived in a few other countries and travel a lot in a normal year, but I keep coming home and thinking how good we have it here. Check it out when the world gets back to normal - come on over in early Autumn - March is pretty good. Start in Tasmania and work your way west to Perth via Melbourne and Adelaide, then head over to the Sunshine Coast, Gold Coast, and Sydney. There is so much great golf 🙂

Re: The irons... I had carpal tunnel surgery a few days after they arrived and haven't had a chance to try them out on the course. I took them to a simulator to try to figure them out a bit and I was very impressed. They feel great. The numbers were not totally trustworthy so I'm taking them with a few grains of salt, but I could probably go up (down?) a flex to the 130g version, but man, I really need to get my launch angle under control. I'm casting enough to worry myself - which impacts smash and dispersion.

Distances are good, feel is great, dispersion is good, spin (my whole reason for changing from 2019 T100's to 2021 T100S') is still to be figured out. Hopefully I'll be alright to play in a few weeks when twilight season kicks off. But, so far so good!

Will be curious to hear how you hit your new irons.

I am going to go get fitted for Titleist irons soon. Not sure if I should go with a 200 / 100 combo or even throw 300 into the mix.

Sadly with Covid golfing in Australia is just dream.  I have only been there on business. But I need an excuse to bring clubs and stay an extra week or two.

Got an update on my order and Titleist has no outlook on when my shafts will be in and doesn't have any alternative graphite shafts available. This is for an order from 8/10.

I can't wait to try them out on course. They were OK on a simulator, but I hit from mats so infrequently that I have no idea how (or if) the feel translates to hitting from grass.

I went with the T200 3 iron because I've already got a (2019) T100 3 iron, which I can hit just fine but I figured the T200 would be a very different club - more of a utility iron than the T100, but not as chunky as a U505. I'm looking forward to reading your thoughts once you get to the fitting 🙂

I think we've had a few days of no golf here in my part of Australia - which coincided with the worst of winter, so nobody was really inconvenienced. But you're right - it will be a while before we get many people coming here on golf trips and it'll be a while before we'll head overseas for a golf trip. What a time to be alive, hey? 😕

An update on my T300 set, long story. So my T300 Tensei AM2 Blue order was delayed indefinitely. MCA shafts are stuck in Vietnam.

So, i found out that there is a shop/club builder locally that actually has T300 component heads in stock (i had no idea they had component heads until yesterday). They don't have the Tensei shafts in-stock, but have various steel shafts in stock. So I ordered a custom built set that they will build in-house from components they have in-house of T300 with Nippon 950gh stiff. Although I didn't get the graphite shafts I wanted, the Nippons are my favorite all time iron shaft and are in fact the steel shafts that I had been originally fit for a long time ago. I have always been seeking something in graphite that played similar to those, as those are my benchmark/ideal shaft. Since everything is in-stock at this club builder, my set will be done next week, even with all my special build requests.

  • 2 weeks later...

Had my first round today with the T300 set. Front 9 was not so good with any club, so can't use that as a baseline. Made a grip change in the back 9 and started to play much better. Once my swing was generally in better shape, I love the ballflight of the T300. They launch really high, which may be bad for some of you guys, but for me, that is a good thing. Didn't have any sort of launch monitor, but my short irons had to be at least a 100 feet in the air. Also, these irons are more forgiving for me than the Srixon ZX5 set i had before. I hit one ball extremely off the toe with a 6 iron today, so much so that i called out "toe" after i hit the ball. Ball went lower than a good strike, but I was surprised how far it went for being that far off the toe.

One thing I noticed with my T300 set is that the set wedges are really good. I'm changing some stuff with my bag, so had a 48 (T300 wedge) and then a 60 degree TM wedge in the bag. (Normally I would have a 54 in there, and will soon). Didn't want to use the 60 more than needed, so when I was 60 to 70 yards out, hit partial 48 wedge shots and was putting those shots much closer to the hole than typical.

Was intimidated by the address position initially of the T100 ........ but after trying P760 I came to realize that it's a progressive set in a great way! 4i is actually bigger than P760 4i but a much better look( thinner topline) to my eye .......

The confidence is growing with each passing round .......the 46* PW is truly a money club for me.......95-135yds wind dependent.......back to hitting 7i 170 albeit downwind!! Lol

With the added Tungsten in this iteration, forgiveness is really high especially in such a smallish package.  After nearly a year with the very solid i210s, I consider this a significant upgrade...... holed out a 6i from 170 in a Veterans event couple weeks back that I'm still riding high on that strike😊20220309_220929.jpg.9b06e2ec4deaddfcf2e2af6c85163e40.jpg20220323_172305.jpg.6b2b3307c5cdb4eae5f3613b335e1a44.jpg

What new irons did they release?

Have you asked what the hold up is with your set? It could be something as small as the grips you ordered are back ordered and you could swap for different grips. It could be the shaft which is affecting everyone shaft company right me and this every in company

Like others have said there is no NEW model outside the 2021 T-series.....

The T100 2019 is the previous model which were chrome .....these are a satin finish

I was surprised to get the T200 with Modus 105 built, shipped and delivered in less than six weeks.  The weather's been crummy in Chicago, but I enjoyed the feel of the new irons the last few rounds.

So first round (9 holes) with the T300's of the year.  After geting the Mizuno Pro 223's early in the year, and the Wilson D9 Forged a few weeks ago, I gave each of those---well not a fair share, but a bit of a chacne.

With a couple important rounds coming up this week, I took the T300 back out today to get the feel for them.  I have just one question.

Why, Why, Why am i even messing around playing any other iron.  These were last fall when I got them, the best irons I have hit in many years, and they still were today after sitting in my office the better part of the last 5 months.

One thing I noticed today, that I probably knew before but had forgotten.   You know how those that love to play blades, say "They let you know exactly when you miss it'   Well these do too, but in a different way.

I hit a few near perfect shots today with a 9 iron and a couple 6 irons.  They sounded as good as any players club out there upon impact and felt just as good, and most importantly flew high and far.

Then Ihad a couple that at impact made a bit of a clack sound, something you'd expect form a big traditional SGI club.  And the resulting shot was definitely less distance that the soid ones.   Not really enough to get me in any serious trouble, but just came up maybe 10 yards or so short of thje green, or in once case barely on the fron fringe when it was a way back pin.

So you could tell via the sound they weren't hit pefectly and the resulting shot confirmed it.

So not near as harsh as feeling the sting all the way up your hands and arm when you mishit a blade or something in that category.

So I ask again, why would I even put any other irons in my bag 🙂
