13 players spent no money, although one of them, @blackngold_blood had no money to spend. The man who spent the most was @frankast23, spending over half his budget ($77) to fill out his roster. Average spend across the league was 13.55, round up to 14 if you wish. If you factor out those who did not spend, you're looking at an average spend of 17.46, again round how you wish.

The most expensive player was Tyrell Williams in Detroit, who went for 32 dollars. Other expensive acquisitions were Sony Michel who went twice, once for 31 and once for 30, Nyhiem Hines for 31, Austin Hooper for 30, and Marquez Callaway who went for 27 dollars

I'm one of the 13 that spent no money in filling out my roster nor have I made any trades. I'm fairly happy with my team at this point. Can't wait until things get started tomorrow night!

I spent $2 on a kicker....probably stupid but this is the first time I am playing with auctions for waivers so I wasn't sure what to do and I needed a kicker to round out the roster

Couple of things:

For those of you sending me trade offers, I apologize if I haven’t sent back a reply along with the decision. I’ll do a better job at that so you know what’s going on. I don’t regularly check the forum during the week. My new teaching job has made me in the evenings making dinner, doing some work and maybe a little Clash of Clans before bed. I don’t check anything else. You can contact me through Fantrax chat as I have the notifications on and Slack once I figure out how to join. 

As for trading, I believe no player is untouchable and welcome offers. But as we haven’t seen a game yet I’m holding off until I can see my team in action and re-evaluate from there (unless the offer is just amaze balls!). As of now I like my team (even though I was late on the QB train) and would like to update my receiving core. 
 

Does anyone have the Slack channel name so I can join? I haven’t been able to find it anywhere!

This is my first foray with Fantrax, and am still getting use to it and all its features and using a FAAB system. 
 

What’s everyone’s opinions on the recent acquisitions of players that used so much FAAB? It’s hard to evaluate how much a player is worth and if you’re wasting your money. Guess it doesn’t do you any good if you have any FAAB left at the end of the season anyway. 
 

Thanks for reading and letting me squabble. I look forward to the season and what a 58 team league is like season long!!

I just updated bc I was using the wrong handle. It’s Crossroads Golf. I just posted an update for myself so everyone knows. I am open to trades, just want to see what my team looks like the first couple of games before I start trading parts away.

Here's how I can state it easily, you're chasing for unproductive volume. For position players you're looking for guys who do alot without doing enough... if that makes any sense. A good example from last year, were you aware that Frank Gore has 200+ touches for the Jets? He only amassed 730 yards and 2 td's with it though. Or that Jerry Jeudy was targeted 113 times, but only made 52 catches on the season? They would have been valuable picks.

Either that, or you're looking for the mistake prone player, guy who fumbles a ton, throws some picks. When we did this in 2019 it was Jameis' infamous 30/30 season.

As far a defenses, go with teams likely to get lit up, and specialists, get the best guys you can. But remember... you only get 8 starts for each player in the league use them wisely

The 8 starts is what gets me. How do you juggle that? Guess that’s the million dollar question huh?!

Streaming is one approach. Limited benches make it hard to sit on players so you want to ensure you trade your big money players for equal value before they use up their pitch counts.

You can matchup chase and make it far. Hell looking back at my run to the finals at QB I streamed all season and not just low end guys, I had Tom Brady, Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, Matt Ryan and Aaron Rodgers among my QB's in 2019. I never used a QB more than twice. If you feel strong about the matchup, don't be afraid to take the risk. Circus is all about the zag while everyone else zigs.

You chased the tougher matchups for QBs right? Same could be said for RB/WR/TE. Hoping they don’t have huge games correct? Bc we need to fill a complete roster still, just crazy good points for punters, kickers and DST (if played right!). 
 

Very interesting, never played in a league like this. 
 

Only different league I played was our Pirate league. If you win you would “pillage” (trade) a player from the opposing team if you won (no questions asked if you win). Similar to Vampire but everyone drafts at the same time from the same pool. Can’t “pillage” 1st or 2nd round players. We learned that the hard way and it was deflating once you lost CMC, DHenry, etc.

I think I finally broke Fantrax with the Mahomes trade. One minute it shows him on my team and allowed me to make an offer using Chark then when I went back to my team page Mahomes is gone and so is my trade offer.

And just to check, I did run it forward a week to your week 2 roster just in case it wouldn't process as a week 1 trade, same rosters and what not, so it's definitely a FT issue.

I was offered the same deal but with Jackson instead of Mahomes and countered. Had no real idea it would go through

It reads as a deleted trade... I'm gonna run into the slack for commissioners to see if someone did something by accident. We can maybe make it a commissioner trade if need be.

Who knows. It still shows his drop to make the trade work and my add for my empty spot in transactions for me but not the trade. It also shows a couple other offers as canceled due to player being traded or dropped. 
 

We will just go this route until things get straightened out. I’m looking to move DJ or Chark for a RB2/3 or willing to add Barkley and do a low end RB1 and slightly better WR2. Hit me up here or slack to discuss and maybe we can have a deal ready when this mess is straightened out.
