Tim Tebow

Tebow's 316 yards were off 10 completions (21 attempts). His game is based around luck and the defense underestimating him. I'll admit, it's fun to watch Tebow play, and his first quarter against the Pats during the regular season was very impressive, but I don't see Tebow being able to match points against the Pats. I just wish I could say I liked the Pats chance against the Ravens, Green Bay, or New Orleans as much...

I couldn't disagree more with this. He would be "lucky" if he could go a game without his WRs dropping passes that hit them square in the chest. It isn't luck or estimation, it's pure talent. Yes, maybe he isn't the most graceful and most accurate, but his talent is undeniable. When he gets to moving around, defenses freeze, because everyone knows he can bust a 30yd run just as easy as he can bust a 30yd pass; if anything they underestimate his throwing ability, because of his ability to run. Yes, he only completed 10 of 21, but there were at least 3-4 drops and 3-4 times that he threw the ball away to avoid losing yards. Don't underestimate that D either; Champ Bailey is still one of the best DBs in the game and Dumervil/Miller might be the best pass rushing duo in the league. I know the Pats whopped them a few weeks ago, but I think Denver has made some improvements since then.

Either way, the NFC is going to dominate the Super Bowl this year. There isn't a team in the AFC that can hang with NO or GB. The only chance the AFC has is if NY of SF make it out of the NFC.

On a side note......Does anyone remember the last time that all the Wildcard teams were defeated in the first round?

Don't forget the drops the Pittsburgh D made too :). I don't deny Tebow has a lot of talent, I just think he has more flaws and has no consistency. I went to my fantasy league's superbowl with Tebow where he threw 4 interceptions to the Bills of all teams. So I've watched Tebow a lot since he became a starter. IMO, his numbers from Sunday were inflated by some incredible after-the-catch running by Thomas. I will give it to Tebow that those particular throws were beautiful and would wreck the Pats secondary, but so many others looked wobbly or were completely off target.

You have no idea how much I hope for a Pats vs NYG super bowl. GB and NO are just too good, plus a chance at a rematch would be fun.

I am not a Tebow fan at all, but it would be stubborn to keep thinking his game is based on "luck" and thinking he is not talented enough.

Indeed he is not the "typical" QB, and I will never expect him to have Rodgers accuracy, Brees intelligence, or Cutler's arm, but he knows how to win games. He doesn't have the mechanics, but, then, do you really need to have them in order to win? What happened with Brady Quinn, Matt Leinart, David Carr, Rex Grossman, Sam Bradford, and every other QB with a "classic technique" who were supposed to be the "next best thing" in this league? You don't win games in paper but rather in the field, and Tebow has shown he is able to do so, even against big teams.

I agree the Steelers underestimated him, and that is why they lost. It actually ended up being a much closer than than it should, since Baley should have intercepted that last play and a couple of Tebow's passes should have ended in the receivers hands after hitting the numbers in their chests.

He is more dangerous than we all thought he would be when he started his first game, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were able to control the game clock against a horrible Patriots defense. Remember what the Steelers did to NE? Well, we might be heading back to a second miracle next week.

Again, this is why the NFL will always be the best U.S. league, because there is always the chance for any team to end up in the playoffs and even a Superbowl. That is why 2008 had the 6th NFC seed as Superbowl champ, and two years ago we had the Cardinals one play from winning it all.

Let's hope this year we have more surprises than ever and hope to have the best end of the season ever!

Thats why I would like to see a Broncos - 49ers matchup; two teams that nobody thought would make it there and it would be a throwback to the 80's when both of these teams were dominant.

Let me start off by saying I am a Steelers fan.

I watched the whole game yesterday and let's just say i was beyond shocked when my steelers D gave up a 80 yard TD pass on the first play in OT. That being said, Tim Tebow is not an NFL QB. I'll be the first to give him credit that he made 5-6 great passes. It also didn't hurt that one of the better DB's in the league got caught being lazy/looking into the back field instead of covering his receiver and went on to have his worst game of the season (Ike Taylor). The deep ball is the best pass Tebow has. In 90% of games you will connect on 1 and at most 2 usually.

You can't have continued success with a QB that is constantly throwing ducks into the air, constantly missing open receivers, and simply lacks the ability to anticipate where a receiver will be open among the Defense. What Tebow did this year was impressive. He led an average team, in a average division to the playoffs. Then when every body underestimated him he dropkicked my Steelers right in the mouth. Impressive!

IMO yesterday was a great example of the Steelers stagnant offense coming to light once again this season, the Steelers D underestimating Denvers Deep threat, and simply the Broncos wanting to win more than the veteran Steelers.

Nobody with any base of Football knowledge can honestly believe that Tim Tebow is an NFL QB, that he gives Denver a chance to win the division, and go to the playoffs year after year. Tebow is always going to be an at or below .500 QB that can win games against below average teams. Yesterday my Steelers would be the exception to that -- an average to above average team.

The Steelers clearly didn't respect Tebow's arm and it cost them the game (although why Mike Tomlin didn't take his chances with a long field goal at the end of regulation is beyond me). A win is a win, but the numbers are inflated. There was a LOT of YAC from his receivers. I still can't get past the less than 50% completion percentage. And while he definitely threw some nice balls, he throws some of the ugliest looking balls (floating ducks), and habitually misses receivers by more than any pro QB I've ever seen.

And yet here we are...the Patriots don't scare anyone any more and are more vulnerable than they've ever been. Unless Ray Rice runs wild, Baltimore still doesn't score a lot of points, and the Texans aren't exactly battle tested. Point is, it wouldn't surprise me to see Tebow take the Broncos all the way to the Superbowl (although I'd rather see the Texans there).

If the expected happens and either the Saints or Packers make it through from the NFC, there's no way the Broncos can compete. As good as their D is, either of those teams is probably going to put up a fairly easy 35 of them, and I don't think Tebow has 35 points in him.

If the unexpected happens (niners, giants), well, then screw it...I'd take the Broncos.

As a Pats fan, I agree they're not as intimidating as they used to be, but there's no way they use the same coverage schemes that Pitt got burned on (they're not even good enough to try). Given Tebow's trebuchet-like load time and accuracy on short- and mid-range routes, I would guess they'll try to take away the deep ball, yield a bunch of rushing yards, and just put up more points on the Denver D than the Broncos offense can score on the Pats.

Having said that, I think the AFC playoffs this season are all about deciding who has the privilege of being dusted by the NFC team, regardless of which team that might be.

Couldn't agree more. The only thing the Pats defense has going for it is turnovers, and Tebow is very generous with those. I don't expect Texas to beat the Ravens, and the Pats can win against Ravens, so I like the Pats chances. Come Superbowl time though, I'll be sitting in a fetal position trying to pretend what I'm watching isn't happening while Brees or Rogers has their way with the Pats D.

I have tons of knowledge and I say he can do all of that, for this one reason......he is in the AFC West, where he gets to play crappy teams twice a year and 8-8 can easily win that division year after year. No, he could not succeed in any other division (except maybe the NFC West), but he can where he is.

Its sad to keep hearing excuses about the Steelers losing by Steelers fans. Take it like men!

Tebow killed you in that game. There is no need to criticise him because if he is such a bad QB how come he killed the defense you guys are so proud of? If the Patriots would have beaten them then it would have been because Big Ben was injured and not because Brady was good enough (BTW, does anybody remember that Superbowl when the Steelers won with the suckiest possible game of a QB in the SB history with a 22.6 rating? Well, same thing might have been said about him after that game).

Tebow made a great game, surprised everyone, killed the betting houses and that's it. If he doesn't go any longer and losses the next game, at least he shut up most critics, ended up with a 7-1 regular season record, and made the supposedly best defense in the NFL look like a Primary School Football Team. If he never achieves anything else in his career, he will always have shut up the Steelers Nation that year and wiped his ass with the terrible towel when everyone expected him to have died in competition. Books will always register this win, like it or not guys...
