What's also in your bag

Playing in Scotland I thought I would give put up WITB beyond the clubs. It of course varies but you'll get the idea.

Most players in Scotland walk with the majority (circa 80%) using trollies and probably 60% using electric trollies so the main bag type is cart bags

I've got 20-40 random golf balls, an old Christmas tin full of tees (my tee box, lol), a divot tool I found on the course, two ball markers, a Garmin approach g80, a Wilson glove, a bottle of sunscreen, a bottle of bug spray, pack of gum, and usually a leftover half of a water bottle.

@Alf. S good thing you have a power cart! That's a load to haul every round.

I have a CaddyTek 4-wheel cart. In the bag are about a dozen balls, tees, divot tools, ball markers, green & red sharpies. Then I have a little bag with cigar cutter, butane lighter, Band-Aids, ibuprofen, and athletic tape. I have a Precision Pro rangefinder.

I usually carry 2 32oz water bottles, unless it's a beer day. Then snacks are nuts, beef jerky, or an apple. I'll have my coffee and Clif bar on the way to the course for early morning rounds.

Typically I will have a bottle or two of water, some sort of carbohydrates, gloves, balls, tees, rangefinder.   I keep balls in two separate pouches in my bag.  The first will hold balls that I have purchased, which if my first choice to play.   The second will hold 'found balls' which I will use if there is a fear of losing it.

Everything.

I don't like anything in my pockets except a dime for ball marking and  a handerchief..  Not even tees or a green repair tool.

I don't wear a golf glove [use comfortable wrap type grips instead].

I don't wear any jewelry, not even my wedding band.

A watch style GPS gadget is out of the question.

[One other reason why I don't like to play on days where carts must stay on the paths:  lugging the hand held.]

So everything including my wallet, my indoor glasses, my cellphone, my GPS thingy, and definitely a roll of TUMS is in the bag.

Played yesterday with my carry bag, with only 6 balls a bottle of water and a sleeveless sweater, back knackered, reminding me at 60 why I don't carry anymore.

  • Bag Titleist Hybrid 14
  • Pushcart --  Bagboy Compact 3
  • Weather/Environment Related/Health
    • A big tube of SPF30 sunscreen

    • Gold Bond Medicated Powder (see above)

    • Pedialyte single use powder (No joke.  This is a holdover from barhopping times it has a boatload of electrolytes and myself and friends would use it to help cure hangovers)
    • A hiking first aid kit... you never know.
  • Gloves
    • Way too many MG Dyna grip gloves in various states of repair
    • 1 x All weather glove.  It's a rando I picked up in a humid place.  It's terrible when it's dry but any moisture at all and its great.
  • Balls
    • 6 x Titleist Pro V1x

  • Food and stuff
    • 2x Bottle of water
    • Small box of Kind bars that I replenish when I finish the box.

In my bag: 2 golf gloves (attached to outside of bag), balls (sleeve of new ones, handful of gently used ones, and handful of found ones), tees, ball marker/divot tool, black or blue sharpie, 2 Gatorade towels, club brush, range finder, tool to adjust driver

Advil, tums, athletic tape, Icy Hot, bug spray, suntan lotion

Umbrella, short sleeve rain jacket (keep a long sleeve waterproof jacket and pants in my car - I'm the one driving 99% of the time so can easily grab them if forecast calls for it), rain hood for bag

In the cart: keys, wallet, chap stick, eye drops, water/gatorade, snack (granola bar of some sort most likely), portable cell phone charger, sunglasses case, cigar w/ cutter and lighter

Ha, not so much "on," but "around" the golf course, whether we're playing at a country club with amenities that include a pool, or on an overnight trip where it doesn't occur to me that our AirBnB might have a hot tub, or even if we're playing one of the few local courses around here that are near a waterpark.

Pittsburgh weather can be all over the place, but a round of golf and a jump in water that feels like the "opposite" of the conditions you just played in is about as good a pairing as any steak-and-Cabernet or soft-pretzel-and-beer.

WOW some of you pack really heavy. For me===

6 balls

6 Gloves

Some tees and markers and repair tool

range finder

Ibuprofen

CBD gummie ( 1 ) ONE left handed Marlboro and lighter strictly for pain and stiffness

And now I have to ride because of my injuries but I do use an old school Burton Mini staff bag because I absolutely hate club tangle--- Even now If I lose more than 6 balls during a round I am going home. Also as SOP for me I normally carry only 12 clubs. I know the kids at the bag drop talk about how light my bag is even lighter than some of the smaller carry bags other members use.

Yeah, I’m amazed at what guys put in their bags for a round of golf. I keep things light. I just got rid of a bag that weighed 5.5 lbs because it was too heavy lugging out of my Jeep and carrying to the range.

Im pretty much like you, only I use a Sun Mountain 2.5 14 way bag (4 lbs.) I keep 6 balls, two gloves, a range finder,  2 Martini tees I’ve had for 3 years, a couple small ones for par 3’s, a towel and a water bottle. I can go 4 hours without eating, or just get a banana or some nuts in the morning when I grab my coffee.

Now that it’s getting cooler, I’ll throw a vest or sweater in the apparel pocket. If I need more than that to stay warm, I’m heading to the bar for a scotch.

Our range is a little out of the way--- Since I got the Motocaddy cart I use it--- Before I used a Vintage Bag Boy pull cart--- Sometimes I just use my little fold up Sunday bag thing I keep in the car and carry like 3 or 4 clubs.

Living in Scotland even in the middle of summer you can get 4 seasons in one day, especially early Spring and Fall. There is a saying "If you don't like the weather, stick around it will change in an hour". You have to be prepared hence the amount of kit I carry.

I have 3 cart bags and 2 carry bags, the cart bags are usually stacked with kit that my electric trolley easily carries. The carry bags only now come out when I'm going on vacation and really for ease of transport to and from the courses on holiday. Obviously for the carry bag the amount of kit seriously reduces more in line with what your quoting. Up until this year the carry bags were shoved in the back of the car when I wanted a quick few holes, I put on a pair of spikeless shoes shove the clubs and carry bag in the back of the car and be on the course within 15 minutes but last time out I came off after 15 holes with my back stiff and sore, even with the lighter bag of  the 2.
