pup has been doing really well post surgery a few months ago. She’s actually picked up fetch living with my parents dog (Weimaraner)….was never ever interested before. It’s funny to see her stubby self run.

Hope had a fresh bath today. She’s been heavy into the grass rolling around and pollen is Definitly getting to her. Going to be a more often thing over the next few weeks

New Owner Dog Rules:

1. The dog is NOT allowed in the house.

2. Okay, the dog is allowed in the house, but ONLY in certain rooms.

3. The dog is allowed in all rooms, but has to stay OFF the furniture.

4. The dog can get on the OLD furniture only.

5. Fine, the dog is allowed on all the furniture, but is not allowed to sleep with the humans on the bed.

6. Okay, the dog is allowed on the bed, but only by invitation.

7. The dog can sleep on the bed whenever he wants, but not under the covers.

8. The dog can sleep under the covers by invitation only.

9. The dog can sleep under the covers every night.

10. Humans must ask permission to sleep under the covers with the dog.

Love all the pictures of the pups!  Joining in late, but here is a picture of Maddie, laying on the floor like a good girl, and her son, Buddy Guy, having taken over the couch.  Adopted them from a rescue--Maddie was abused and was working hard getting past fear aggression when we lost her in her sleep 2 years ago.  I have a Cuddleduds headcover for my driver in her likeness.  Bubs is a 85 pound lap dog.

Happy national dogs day all!

Had an interesting one today and was going to post in happy thread but works here for NDD.

Family was leaving for New hamshire this weekend to go to my in laws cottage. Was going to get home finish packing the truck up and when my wife got home from work the plan was to just hit the road….we’ll got home and somehow my pup got out of the house….

spent an hour searching in the middle of a very nasty storm….I was absolutely soaked. Wife and I were freaking out. My mom contacted a bunch of neighbors….one of them happened to be on some app and someone posted that they picked up a black pitty two streets over from my parents house.

It was hope. Ya know some days I lose faith in people and then a day like this where our dog who is petrified of storms (rescue, she was breed and left outside when she couldn’t be used for breeding anymore) happened to get out was wandering and these kids who happened to be driving by picked her up and had the thought to post on several sites that they picked her up. Times like this I have a little hope for people.

she is doing well safe inside and the family was able to make our trip to new hamshire. Some days people still surprise me.

Missed it by a day.  Mr. Man getting a little older and a little slower but still the same lover pup I've always known.

I'm glad to hear she's safely home and it's good to know there's some wonderful people out there. Looks like she had a rough day and is resting well and happy to be back with family.

I love our dalmatian... But when I get the call saying she decided to have fun in a field full of and i have to come home to wash her i was less then impressed despite how happy she looks.

I know I'm late to the dog party, but I couldn't resist adding a little autumn flare with pictures of my beagle Scout (named after To Kill a Mockingbird title character).   

  

We rescued her from a Tampa Bay beagle rescue when her initial parents gave her up for adoption after she was pregnant.   She gave birth to three huge puppies on July 4th.  Everyone wanted the puppies, but we wanted the momma!  We picked her up two weeks after Hurricane Irma.  Her foster parents said we won the beagle lottery.  They were absolutely correct.

She knows we are suckers….she’s a great dog and is super lazy after her first few years so we let her be her lol.

hates walks, enjoys a quick jaunt in the yard but besides that her wheel house is the couch and our bed.

Thing with a front seat dog is if we go anywhere as a family and she’s in the back. If we go into a store….she takes her front seat back…..that’s why I always drive

Black Lab we had was too big for the front seat .. but, of course, he did not care! .. so I actually had to put a little barrier between the front seats! (..still got plenty of hot doggy breath on me anyway )

Chuck-it balls and Retrievers is like crack cocaine to an addict .  River is absolutely nuts for this game.  When we moved to AZ and this 55+ community, one of our hesitations was how much he'd miss having wide open acreage and over an acre of lawn to play in.  But we're happy to report that we have a couple of very nice walking trails that also have large open grass areas.  Being within walking distance to one of these trails was on our "must have" list during the house hunt.  Yes, you heard that right... we passed on a number of otherwise great homes to check that off the list... what we don't do for our pets .
