AMA

It looks like Bruce Sizemore brought an arsenal of products along with his answers to the AMA this time to get into more of the nitty gritty based on our product specific questions. Enjoy!

____________________________________

Next up on the AMA docket is Bruce Sizemore, the owner and founder of More Golf. Bruce started his career in the golf industry as a professional golfer, and for the last 20 years, he’s been designing golf clubs with some of the below notches on his belt:

  • Before More Golf, he worked as a designer at Copper Stix, Sizemore Collection and SuperStroke
  • His designs have landed in the bag of over 50 tour players
  • Most recently, Bruce is trying to disrupt the way golf clubs are manufactured at More Golf
  • More Golf produces modular designs that use 100% Billet-Milled parts and are wholly manufactured in the United States

If you’re interested in checking out some of the reviews of More Golf’s Mod 1 Wedge, check out Peter Finch and Rick Shiel's reviews of his wedges HERE and HERE respectively. Something to note in those powerhouse YouTube influencer reviews, the Mod 1 outperforms Peter Finch's Vokey wedges in every single test on the GC Quad AND on visual inspection. Along with these reviews, I’ve started testing out the Mod 1 Wedge in a 50 degree and 56 degree I’ll be posting to the forum.

Awesome to have you and thanks for joining the MGS forum with this AMA. I've seen the reviews before and have been curious about them even with me being a lefty. My question is how much do asthetics play a part in the wedges you have designed? They are very unique looking wedges and may not suit everyones eye, that being said should raw numbers simply outweigh that or will  the way something looks always play a significant if not larger role then the numbers?

Hello Bruce and thanks for taking part in MGS's Ask Me Anything.  I've been playing golf for over half a century and this is the first I've hear of More Golf.  Admittedly I'm not a huge gear consumer (forum members have another name for that), but I've been active on MGS ( and lurker on Golf WRX) for 4 years and I'm kind of surprised not to have heard about you and your company until this thread.

Presuming I am not an outlier example of your brand name recognition, does this concern you?

Thanks for doing this, Bruce.

When it comes to your putter line, how customizable are the current offerings, and do you plan to introduce options for your upcoming putter releases? Customizable in the ways of design milling/head stamping, toe hang/face balancing, and total head weight.

Same questions for the wedge line. Love the replaceable face feature. That alone would sell me.

Hello Bruce,

Your clubs are obviously very unique from your competitors which also leads to the price of the clubs being on the higher end. With this price point how do you encourage new customers to try your product?

Hey Bruce,

Thanks for participating in our AMA! I noticed that your clubs are modular, so based on current prices can you expand on the long term price difference between owning one of your clubs and changing the face as it wears out vs. buying a whole new competitor club when that face wears out? When do you think an average consumer would "break-even" with this model?

Additionally, can you expand on the design philosophy? Is it function over fashion?

Thanks!

I immediately noticed where the hosel is on your irons How much inspiration did you take from the design of the Cleveland VAS irons who have a similar hosel location?

As a reference point, Pros change Vokey wedges every 50+ rounds. Do your wedges wear the same or better?

With the ultimate customization of your wedges and clubs will you look at expanding that to color customization as well? Or would the costs outweigh the benefits of something like that?

I love the leading edge … I love everything about it. I was planning on getting a used corvette but maybe I’ll get one of theses wedges instead.

I kno innovation comes at a price. I accept that. But I have a list of golf-wants waiting for funds. I paid $400 for a new putter this year, why not a killer wedge. Consider it added to my wish list.

Hey Bruce!

After testing the wedge now for almost a month, I have to say, the spin and control are outstanding. To preface my question, after watching Peter Finch go through the review of the Mod 1 Wedge, they outperform the Vokey equivalent wedge in every test. Peter Finch didn't immediately put the wedge in his bag for one reason: It didn't look like a traditional wedge. Rick Shiel's video tells a different story: That of pricing the wedge above $400. My Question(s):

1. How important is the exterior design of your clubs to the performance (ie. could you make a wedge performant with a more traditional look)?

2. What is your strategy to get these HIGH PERFORMANCE clubs into more people's hands?

Very excited for your responses!
