Great, golf balls are now heading the way of ammo 😐. If everyone runs out and buys a couple dozen+, we'll likely create a shortage.  On the plus side, I have never fallen head over heels in love with any particular ball (have a handful of make/models I prefer) and have a healthy cache of used balls to fill the gap.

Regarding the refurbished balls and "don't use them" commentary.... meh.

I didn't get to finish the episode yesterday, but I don't doubt what Tony said about the potential for a ball shortage - especially with DTC companies. I may wind up switching to something more readily available, but I'm not sure what ball that will be so I ordered 5 dozen MTB-X from Snell while they have stock.

I should have enough of my current stock to get me through the rest of the year and be set for the '22 season. Hopefully, the issue won't extend into 2023, but at least I'll have 12 months to try and place an order or find a replacement if it does.

I am the same way until I tried the Bridgestone Tour B X, there are prob other balls that I could sub for it but I really like it played really well around the green for me.

This is purely anecdotal but it seems like there are people who play tour yellow balls for no reason other than how few other people do, and how much harder it would be to pretend you thought someone else's was yours.

Nothing wrong with that but hard not to laugh to myself imagining the look on their faces when all the white Q-stars and Chromesofts and AVX's have been gobbled up and they find the treeline between fairways littered with yellow ones.

I don't understand the reasons behind the alleged shortages.

I've seen the shortages discussed, but I may have missed any opinions as to the reasons.

I thought playing yellow balls were to be able to see them better, but maybe not.

Seeing the ball is why weekday morning playing seniors like myself don't like to be hurried on the golf course.

"Ready golf" doesn't work for us.  We play in traditional order so that long shots have eight eyes on them.

Finding the ball right away is faster than looking for it when you never see it land.
