Kingofturtles
Hey all, I've always had a hard time squaring my clubface. I ended up sort of fixing it by doing the Dustin Johnson bow at the top of my swing. At the same time, I've also started working on rotating my hips toward the target (the drill where you have a stick in the ground in front of you and another stick through your belt loops) it's making me rotate a bit more. After practicing this for a couple weeks I am now pulling my shots on short irons straight left. I've started trying to rotate my hands and close the clubface less and it seems to be working. I've literally spent 3 years trying to close the clubface and now it seems too closed? I am wondering if something weird is going on or if the fact that I am rotating my hips more is helping me close the face? More hip=less hands, less hip= more hands? Quote Link to comment
Kenny B
I don't think we can answer that without seeing what your swing looks like. Swing issues occur because of flaws in setup, backswing, or transition; maybe all three. Rather than guessing what's wrong, a session with a PGA Pro could save another 3 years. Whats the best way to go about finding a good PGA Pro for someone? Seems like there are a lot of bad coaches out there. Any recommendations to filter through them? Interview them to see what their style and approach is, does it match with your goals and learning style. Do you and him/her mesh. Look at reviews. There’s probably less bad coaches than people think. While there are for sure some bad ones many times it’s the golfers fault. They don’t do their research, they don’t find an instructor they can mesh/communicate with, they don’t communicate much with the pro, they don’t put in the work between lessons, they expect the bad seing they developed over months/years will get fixed for good with the first range session or round after the lesson Kenny B and cnosil 2 Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1 Link to comment
