A simple test of older equipment and interesting result

See picture.   These were decoration in VRBO we stayed at on a golf course.  They have wood shafts.  My son and I played 3 holes, given wood shafts I lowered swing speed using a mashie.   2 pars, 4 bogeys, 1 double in 6 holes.   Not nearly as bad as one would think.   Limited conclusion is that good swings trump equipment for normal golfers.

Looks about like my Hickory equipment I plan on playing in a Hickory Par 3 event Sept 24th----- LOL I will be a little differnt though ( as SOP for me) They will be in the Motocaddy bag and the Motocaddy cart. My wife is also playing and she will need at least 5 clubs. I am not toating that is what the Motocaddy is for. Will be kinda be a long range thing 100 year old clubs in a ultra modern bag and cart. I will also be playing balata balls. The format calls for hitting Hickory on 6 holes and they furnishing the Hickory clubs. I talked to the tournament director and asked if I could play the whole round with hickory clubs and he said yes. Since I asked he is going to do the same thing.
