Product Fail :( -- Inesis Resistance golf glove.

First, importantly, I want to say that the Inesis brand of golf and other sports gear, and apparel and activewear, under the Decathlon umbrella has some excellent true value buys - ie. a good quality product at a good price.

* Note:
This is not a full product review but rather a quick "caveat emptor" of a product that did not meet expectations.

OK so I've purchased several things from Inesis and Decathlon in the past .. including golf gear, some clothes, a surfboard bag, a bike .. and have usually been satisfied with what I've received. One of those times I must've been a few $$ short of free shipping and looked for something else I might need to make it to the minimum - and who doesn't need another golf glove? - and, at that time, this particular glove model was not just on sale but was the only one in stock in my size.

Next important note:
Inesis sports gear is divided into categories - usually three - by price such that you can choose either.. (1) a premium level product - "900", (2) a middle of the road product - "500" or (3) a budget / entry level product - "100".

The "Resistance" glove is in the 100 - budget / entry level category.

It's a nice lightweight glove made from synthetic materials with a large stretch area across the knuckles and also between each of the fingers and at the base of the thumb; plus .. a feature that I like .. there is an additional "wear" patch on the heel of the palm. The fit on me is actually really good and it is very comfortable.

But after only 4 or so uses, here's what happened ...

1. the back of the velcro closure tab came unglued into two pieces  -- yes, the glove could still function and yes, it could be glued back together -

..fyi here's what the back of the glove should look like -

But - then I discovered...

2. that extra wear patch on the palm had also become unglued from the main material of the glove and was "squirming" around when I gripped a club -- yes, this affected the feel and playability of the glove -

That ridge in the red circle shows how I could pinch the patch material and separate it from the underlying main glove.

--

Other:

Storage - when not used any extra gloves are stored with extra golf balls in my finished basement, so relatively temperature and humidity controlled.

Customer Service - did not contact them as this was bought this last Winter, and for only $5 if I remember right, so just didn't bother. Note that on new and unused products there is a full 1 year return policy.

--

So, unfortunately, my experience with the 100/budget version of the Inesis golf glove was not worth it to save a few extra $$.

Perhaps just a bad production lot?  I get the nagging feeling that everything we buy right now is subject to production and quality woes as result of Covid.  Rather it be a golf glove than a set of truck tires.

^ HA! Good point, though .. yeah it's always possible it was a one-off bad batch. If I'm ordering more from them in the future maybe I'll test out another glove...
