Pretty interesting how current Players long irons are as good or better than the hollow headed more forgiving "utility" type irons. I have a 4 UDi TP I play when using my Srixon Z Forged irons and tried to put it in my bag with my Cobra Tour irons but I just hit the Cobra 4i better than the TP 4i and also have more confidence with it. In fact my Cobra 4i is one of my favorite clubs in the bag. ... As an aside I picked up a SIM2 4 hybrid that basically replaces my 5 wood and added a SIM2 16.5* HL instead of the 15* model. I have found myself on several occasions approaching a 2nd shot on a par 5 where the high launching 5 wood is too short and the 3 wood too long and hope the 16.5* HL solves that problem with the best of both worlds. Gonna experiment with different wood combinations once the fairways firm up for the winter because the roll can be a good 40-50 yds longer than the summer. 50 extra yds sounds great right? And it is when you keep it in the fairway or edge of the rough but the dormant Bermuda is really fast in winter and the last thing I need is 50 more yards of roll when the ball is headed toward the desert. Like everything in this crazy game, there are always trade offs. There is something fun about choosing a winter and summer bag...being meticulous about certain clubs based upon turf and weather makes the new gear releases even more exciting id presume... I thought the same thing about the players irons as well...This last year, I struggled with the 4 UiHi in my bag and really didn't jump all over it much during rounds. The PTx pro 5 iron just worked better and was more consistent...I think @Sluggo42was onto something when he requested a 4 iron in the PTx pro to replace the UiHi 3 Quote Titleist TSI3 LAGolf DJ 65 5 TaylorMade SIM2 3 wood Fujilkura Ventus Blue 7-X Mizuno HMB MP20 3i Nippon Modus 3 120S Mizuno Pro 223 4-P Nippon Modus 3 115X Vokey SM8 50, SM9 54 & 60 Nippon Modus 3 120s Scotty Cameron Phantom X 11.5 Srixon Z-Star XV Divide Official 1/12 testers for 2022 L.A.B. Clay5477 28
Happy with my JPX921 Hot Metal Pro so far. The new line looks great, but I really don't see a major reason to upgrade.
Syks7 1,072
I may be a little north of the target audience for the 223's right now, but they're gorgeous and I definitely want to try them out. Depending on how I hit them this may knock the ZX7's off the club lust pedestal I've put them on. the_rev_golfs 9
They're beautiful. Fitting heads are in. 221 is traditional. 223 is going to be the homerun of the line, plus it's actually available in LH now. 225 will grab more players now wit the smaller head shape. They look and feel great. 3 Quote Driver: Ping G425 Max Fairways: Ping G410 Plus 3w & 7w Hybrids: Mizuno CLK 22 & 25 Irons: Mizuno JPX919 HM Pro Wedges: Cleveland RTX Zipcore 50/54/58 Putter: EVNROLL ER2B Ball: MTB-X
Sp4cetime 3
I think I'm more excited that the Modus 115 is offered for these bad boys. But damn they are nice and since I hate my 790s I may switch to the 225. 3

I have MP-18 MMC's in the bag but a 4-6/7-P set of ZX5/7's coming in the next couple of weeks. Very curious to see how they'll stack up. BMart519 1,387
As an 11.9 handicap, that marketing material on the 223's being for 12 caps and better really spoke to me. 5 1 Quote F9 Driver 9* Baffler 2H/4H and sometimes 5H G700 4i, G410 6-UW, Glide 2.0 54, 60* EAS 2.
tblackmer 5
I hit the 223's and 225's for a few hours today. Two of the most satisfying sets I've ever hit. Ordering them on Sunday at my local fitter. Luckily i was striking the ball well today and got to feel them against comparable Taylormade, Callaway, Cobra, and Titliest. The Mizuno Pros were by far the best feel of the bunch. Not sure if i'll end up with a mix set or straight 225's but February can't come soon enough! 2 Quote Driver: _ _ GBB Epic , 10.5 Fairway: _ _ Epic Irons: _ _ G25 Black Dot, CFS Steel Stiff Wedges: _ _ SM6 50.08, 54.08 and 58.12 mixed grinds Putter: _ _ Works “Everybody can see that my swing is homegrown. marchaman33 1
No sooner did I switch out my trusty combo Mizuno MP/MC set with a Fli-Hi 4 iron that I have been gaming for a decade for custom 1rst Gen T200s last season ( I got them for the AMT white Onyx shafts TBH) then these babies come out... Full disclosure I was not in love enough with the JPXs and thought that i should take advantage of a bit of t he technology as I get older. I love them improvement to the index since the Titliest's, but some combo of these would have been the ones without a doubt. lshines 2
I'm a Miz nut, absolutely love them. These: doggoneitall, I had bought the 219's, and the MP20's last year, and honestly love them both. When local GS has them, I may think of trading in....wouldn't that be silly, but, my gosh! And, I can make the excuse that my (newest - at least a year old) wedges are scuffed up and possibly dull...... I'm stoked about the new (coming) Fli-Hi's too! NothingfeelslikeaMizuno! Droptopman 6
Gorgeous clubs. Hard to beat a Mizuno iron. Last 3 sets of irons are Mizuno. Currently using either JPX 900 forged or MP20 MMC. I like the looks of these and it seems Mizuno is really working on flexibility for combo sets. We will see what my specs look like, but I am leaning heavy towards a combo set next time. Maybe all three models in a set. HMB long irons, MMC middle and blades in short irons. I need to do some work on a monitor anyways. Would love to find a graphite/steel fiber shaft that works for me. As I age the arthritis gets worse every year. Need something a little easier on the hands but that I can still flight down.
