Wow, I made a move on the entire world at The Players. Not only did I jump into the segment and overall lead in our group, but I moved up to 267th in the segment and 462nd in overall.....in the world. Not too shabby, I've got a hot hand right now.

Well done JBones, I have made it into the top 2000, but top 300 is a great effort.

If you do a little homework and research to see which players are playing well and which players play a course well, you can usually do a decent job of picking eight good players for your lineup. But the catch is this: Four of those eight choices will outplay the other four. Getting the right four in your starting lineup is the key. I'm speculating that JBones has been on a streak where he has been choosing the right guys for his starting lineup.

 

You can also get on a streak where you seem to have the best players on the bench. I've been doing that a lot recently. Keep the streak going JBones. And how about sharing your strategy with the rest of us?

Actually, it's a pretty simple strategy. I do the research as I'm sure most do, then for the first two days, I go with the guys that play early. It's no secret that in about every tournament, the conditions are much better in the mornings (softer, usually less wind) than in the afternoon. It's worked all year, but not so much yesterday, the afternoon guys are the ones that blazed it up.

 

Still, 90% of it is luck.

I've been on a downhill slide ever since I started playing REAL golf again. All my fantasy teams and internet contributions have taken a back seat to playing.

I'm doing a good job of minimizing my opportunities to move up. Today my starters were 3 over for only 26 points. My bench? Fourteen under and would have totaled 60 points. I had a good day other than the goose egg that Toms put up. I had a pretty good lead in the segment (in my group), going in, so one bad player isn't going to cost me a whole lot. Hopefully I can just keep a hold on the lead for a few more weeks.
