I wanted USA to win so badly that I picked European players and Europe to win.  With my luck I couldn't jinx the good ol' USA.  Taking one for the team.

Pretty happy with tieing for 13.  Far better than I have done in any other one of these, and way better than I would have expected.

So I went with an all USA line up, which sounded good.  The only issue, I happened to pick 3 USA players, Finau, Schaufelle and English who were the only 3 USA players to lose their matches on Sunday.  In addition to Fianu and English losing on Saturday four ball.    Good grief, even I have the right strategy, I get it wrong...ha

I wonder what the ideal lineup was for this.   Seems like taking all one side would be best, but you run the risk of them not playing or losing. Picking both sides you still have the potential of not playing but also the fact that they could play against each other.

Here's his winning team.  He actually had a mix of US and European players, just happened to pick the one team that stole a bunch of points from the US.  But the number 1 player in the world, and the all time points leader in the Ryde Cup, he definite went with the odds and they paid off.

I split my team 3 USA  Dustin Johnson, Patrick Cantlay, Colin Morikawa  and 3 Europe:  Ian Polter, Sergio Garcia, Lee Westwood.     With picking Team USA. 

total luck on my part.

Picking Cantlay over the other 3 choices in Tier 1 - Rahm, JT, and Jordan was a bold move.  He had the hot hand obviously, but I went with Jordan's experience figuring it was going to a great chance for him to put a bow on his great comeback season.   I was wrong

I just did a quick what if on the brackets and the results.  If I did it correctly, the only way he could have come out better is by picking Scheffler over Poulter in Tier 5. Scheffler had 7 points to Poulters 4 which only came as a result of his singles win.

Rahm losing his singles match cost him 4 points otherwise he would have outscored Cantlay.

Took me a second to find them as well, had to go back to the setting up of the pool through the website as luckily they had the tiers listed. So yeah, you needed at least one Euro on the team to make it happen.
