Matching Fairway Shaft to Driver?

Was fitted in to a TSi2 w/ a Stiff 75g Tensei White (not Pro) this summer and it has been a MONTSTER for me.  Been absolutely blown away at how many of the big misses it's eliminated.  Couldn't be happier.

Being so thrilled with the TSi2, I snagged a 5 wood this week.  Came with a 70g HZRDUS Smoke RDX shaft in it, that I knew was too light when I bought it, but couldn't pass up a great deal.

So looking at new shaft for it, I'm wondering if I just go ahead and find a Tensei White for this thing too; which seems to be much harder to come by in the 80-90 gram range.  Or do I just put the heavier version of the HZRDUS RDX in this thing?  First round with it yesterday, I hit a couple shots that were WAY longer than I was expecting out of a 5 wood.  WAY longer.  But also had one BIG miss that reminded me of my old driver set-up prior to the TSi2.

How common is it to match shafts between all the woods?

TXG will say it shouldn’t be as common as it is, but on tour it’s very common. When I got fitted for my TSi2 driver I went into the AV Raw blue, but preferred the RDX black in the TSi3 3 Wood. A boring answer, but probably best to go try them..

I'm old enough to remember when "matched sets" of woods were common.

That was in the era of persimmon or laminated maple.

You can still get one--a set, that it-- but they're not marketed as such.

You have to choose the matching clubs one at a time.

Maybe a 46" shaft shouldn't necessarily match the fairway woods. I don't know.

I don't play 46" driver shafts.

And most hybrid players only bag one fairway wood to begin with.

My recently purchased Ping set of four [12°D, 16, 19, 22°] has matching proprietary Ping Alta shafts,

but my usual older gamers are a bouquet of different R-flex graphite.

At least my grips always match.

Please let us know how it goes.

I have the same shaft in 65 grams stiff in my TSi3. So I am thinking of replacing my FW shaft with a Tensei AV White 75 Stiff for my 16.5 deg FW.
