Colored golf balls

I was looking to pick up some colored golf balls so I can see where they end up better. Most of the ones I saw were a matte finish.
I find the matte finish is much more difficult to keep clean.
anyone know why they don’t clear coat them?

Matte finish golf balls are for high visibility. EASY TO TRACK.  The finish or lack of finish is designed to absorb light and glare rather than reflect it. This lack of gloss coat does make it harder to keep clean.

Might I suggest a Yelow Ball since you were looking for some color!

I've also been struggling to track my drives in the air since returning to the game a couple months ago. I've tried a few different colored balls. The pink Maxfli SoftFli are pretty good if you can handle using a pink ball. The Srixon Soft Feel Brite Orange balls are also pretty good. Both aren't nearly as bad to clean as the Calloway ones I've tried.

Now that the premium balls are offered in yellow I've switched to playing those. I don't mind the lime green offerings either. Orange is classic, I've found that blue is hard to see in the rough, and I can't stand looking at the red ones.

Clear coating them would effectively make them non-matte finish... so what would be the point?  I like the look of the matte finish colored balls but they are indeed difficult to keep clean.  Dirt imbeds in the surface and is hard to extract.  Plus, MGS's Doctor Golf Ball @Tony Covey MGShas data showing that matte finish adversely affects ball flight performance... so that's worth consideration.  I use to be a white ball only player but in recent years, have started using the gloss finish optic yellow color once in awhile.  It's hard to pass up a like new AVX or ProV in the weeds just because it's yellow. 🙂

I play the Vice lime green. You can see it from 150 yards easily and stands out in the rough greatly. At nearing 70 the ‘ole vision isn’t what it used to be and high vis golf balls definitely help.
